Happy Birthday Kate! The Duchess of Cambridge is celebrating her 38th birthday at Kensington Palace today (She was spotted driving earlier today, click here to see photos). The Duchess privately celebrated with family and a group of close friends at Anmer Hall over the weekend before returning to London for George and Charlotte's return to Thomas's Battersea on Tuesday. To mark the occasion, a new image, taken by one of the Cambridges favourite photographers, Matt Porteous was shared.
It's a lovely photo and has a similar feel to several of the shots we saw of Kate at RHS Chelsea before Back To Nature opened to the public. Judging by Kate's outfit, it's possible it was taken the same time as the Cambridges 2018 Christmas card at Anmer Hall.
Kate is wearing her Fjallraven Forest Green Sweater and (it appears) Asprey Oak leaf earrings.
Also today, The Palace announced several engagements for January beginning with a packed day in Bradford on Wednesday 15 January.
More on the itinerary:
'The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will travel to Bradford on Wednesday 15th January to visit a number of projects which support the community and promote cohesion within it, in one of the UK’s most diverse cities. They will then join a session involving groups supported by Better Start Bradford.
Their Royal Highnesses will first visit City Hall in Bradford’s Centenary Square to join a group of young people from across the community to hear about life in Bradford. The Duke and Duchess will then meet representatives from local employers and businesses who are helping young people into employment. Before departing Centenary Square, Their Royal Highnesses will have the opportunity to meet members of the public gathered outside City Hall.
The Duke and Duchess will visit one of Bradford’s Khidmat Centres, whose main focus is to help the most vulnerable members of the community from minority ethnic backgrounds. On arrival, Their Royal Highnesses will hear about the activities and workshops offered at the centre, and the organisations that they support.
The Duke and Duchess will then join a session involving groups supported by Better Start Bradford, which delivers over 20 projects to pregnant women and families with children under the age of 4. Their Royal Highnesses will meet families from the ‘Older Yet Wiser’ project, a unique and innovative workshop series for grandparents who have child-caring responsibilities for their grandchildren. Participants in the workshop are given tools to enhance their relationship with their grandchildren whilst receiving up-to-date information on raising children in the 21st century.
The Duchess’s longstanding work on the early years has highlighted the importance of supporting children and families during this seminal period of their lives, and the importance of all members of society in raising children.
Finally, The Duke and Duchess will join a workshop run by Near Neighbours, an organisation which brings people together in communities across the UK that are religiously and ethnically diverse, so that they can get to know each other better, build relationships of trust, and collaborate together on initiatives that improve the local community that they live in.'
Additionally on Monday, 20 January, William and Kate will a host a reception at Buckingham Palace on behalf of the Queen to mark the UK-Africa summit. The summit will bring together heads of state and government and senior representatives from African countries, key multilateral agencies and high profile UK and African businesses. I expect it will be an evening event with cocktail dress.
Wishing the Duchess a very Happy Birthday!
On a side note, I've covered the news the Sussexes are stepping back from life as senior royals on my other blog. We'll keep the discussion on that topic over there. Many thanks.
Wishing a very Happy Birthday to HRH Duchess Kate!
ReplyDeleteMay you have many happy returns of the day.
God bless you and your family.
Happy Birthday to this gorgeous classy woman. Kate is the epitome of grace and class despite how much criticism she gets, she always held her head up high and keep moving forward with her royal duties. It's crazy to think that just 10 years ago she turn 28 and that same year she has gotten engaged to her prince time really does flies.
ReplyDeleteI'm so looking forward to Will and Kate's engagements on the 15th and the 20th. What I'm really looking forward to is a possible tour announcement and Kate's Early Years Intative which I 100% believe she will launch this year. I have a great feeling that this year will be a great year for the Cambridges and I'm so excited!!!!
Happy Birthday Kate. Your the most beautiful person in the world.

DeleteHappy Birthday to the Duchess of Cambridge!! What a lovely photo! It is nice to see that when the Cambridges are having family photos taken that they are also taking the opportunity to have individual ones as well! While I would love to peek at the family photo album, always happy when they share one we haven't seen! Hope that Kate can enjoy her birthday and have a wonderful day with her husband and her children!! cc
ReplyDeleteVery very nice family-oriented photograph. This appears to be what Kate "is," and it's very nice.
ReplyDeleteI am in London currently, walked by Kensington Palace today but didn’t unfortunately get to see Kate drive in! Happy Birthday, Kate!
ReplyDeleteOh I wish they were going to Bradford in March when I will be in Yorkshire! Oh well, I probably wouldn't have seen them anyway. Safe travels to them and all good blessings for Catherine's birthday.
ReplyDeleteI respect your wish to keep the Sussex commentary on your other website but I am still deeply sad for the RF today. Hope it's okay to say that.
A very Happy Birthday to a thoroughly modern princess. I think
ReplyDeletethe other events of today only go to highlight how special Kate and William are. I wish her all the best for the year ahead. May 2020 be a good year for hard and her family.
Happiness always to the Duchess, as she celebrates another year. She has always, and continues, to be a class act.

ReplyDeleteA very Happy Birthday to Kate. Love her best in her casual at home attire. So glad to see from the selection of photos that she has a favorite sweater and jeans that are her go to on the daily just like the rest of us. Next time I am heading to the Acme I will be sure to add my diamond earrings to complete the look.
ReplyDeleteLong live Kate, the Firm is bless to have her.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to our dear Kate! She is really beautiful and I love how her inner beauty peacefully shines through in the new picture! 💐❤️
ReplyDeleteThis is how I like the Duchess best, a relaxed and lovely English girl. this looks like her real self. I hope she enjoyed a fine time with friends and family. Does a mother of young ones really get her own special day? I hope she did. This will be a busy year for her and I know she will be equal to the challenge of a changing role as queen-in-training.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to Duchess Kate. I must comment that I'm sad to see such dated posed photographs being displayed. We haven't seen a current photo of Prince Louis in a very long time; the Christmas card and other photos have been at least six months old. Anyway, I'm grateful for all the newsy coverage and appreciate this wonderful blog and the work that W&K are doing.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, HRH! I hope you had a wonderful day FULL of love and celebration! Praying for a wonderful year ahead! ❤️
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to the future queen!

DeleteIt looks like shes not wearing her engagement ring in the family pic but is in the new picture released for her birthday. It's entirely possible she just took it off in between pictures or something on the same day, but perhaps a hint the pictures weren't taken on the same day?
ReplyDeleteHer hand is fisted in the family picture. You can’t possibly tell whether she’s wearing her ring.
DeleteHappy birthday to the beautiful and smart Duchess of Cambridge
ReplyDeleteHi! Thanks for this wonderful blog! She’s so cute! What is your other blog? I want to see your take on the Sussex exit.
ReplyDeleteLove it! So down to earth yet elegant at all times! And shes so relatable with her hands on mom approach. Hope she enjoys her 38th year with health, happiness and peace with her family.
