Styling Kate: It's Time to Style Kate for a Day at Wimbledon!

It's that time of year again! With the Cambridges currently holidaying in Mustique and the August summer break ahead, it's the perfect time of year to ask you to indulge your inner stylist and create your dream look for the Duchess. The annual blog activity has seen readers submit a plethora of stunning looks for red carpet events, Royal Ascot and several State banquets. This year, I thought it would be fun to choose a daywear event. This year, we're going to choose looks for Wimbledon.

Wimbledon is a wonderful opportunity for guests to select a stylish ensemble for a day of courtside action. The fortnight of tennis is one of Kate's summer calendar highlights, and she tends to choose midi and knee length dresses from her favourite designers. As matches can take a number of hours, comfort is key. Is there a particular designer you would like to see Kate wear? Wimbledon White or a splash of vibrant colour? A simple elegant dress, or a separates look? Perhaps a trousers look or jumpsuit? Accessories are key during the tournament. A chic handbag and stylish sunglasses can pull a whole look together.

You can choose high street or designer, or mix and match pieces from Kate's closet.

With the Duchess presenting the winner's trophy at the men's final this year in her role as patron, stylists need to choose a look suitable for attending a luncheon, meeting players, then attending the match with presenting duties at the end.

Before You Get Started:

  • Leave a comment with your suggestions. Please include links to the designer/retailer in order for me to obtain images and to share your selection.
  • I would be very grateful if you could include the colour of your accessories, as links to retailers can often land on shoes, etc where several colours are available.
  • Don't forget to leave a name or a moniker in order to ensure I can appropriately credit your look.
  • The look can simply consist of one item, for example, a dress. If you wish, however, you can include footwear, jewellery, sunglasses, a clutch, bag, etc. It can be as simple or as detailed as you want. Remember you're the stylist!
  • Feel free to choose pieces already in Kate's closet.
  • Please submit one look only.
  • Submissions for the post showcasing all looks will be accepted until midnight on Monday, 5 August.

Happy styling. I am very excited to see your submissions :)

  1. These dress-up challenges are always so much fun! Thank you in advance, Charlotte, for all the work you have taken on! Best wishes that you'll have a grand entertaining time working through the flood of submissions surely headed your way. Certainly, I'm not the only one delighted to join in. As last time, I've put the collage together and you can find it at
You'll have to scroll all the way to the end for it, though ;-)

    1. Miol Mor what a great little blog you have!! You have a stylist's heart for sure! Have not heard of Maticeveski, but he is a nice surprise!! Love the dress and it has the beautiful small flower print that Kate gravitates towards. cc

  2. I told myself I was gonna sleep on my outfit choice before posting but I just couldn’t wait! This was so much fun last year so I’m excited to do it again this year! Anyways, my choice seems to be right up Kate’s alley but I don’t think Wimbledon is the place that we’re gonna see her try a new style.

Dress: This LK Bennett Glenda Print Dress (

Shoes: Alexandre Birman’s Clarita Tie Strap Sandals in Sand color- (

Bag: Strathberry Midi Tote in Navy (

Jewelry: Kate’s Cartier watch and these blue topaz and pearl Kiki earrings (

    1. This dress is so pretty! It looks super comfy, too. I especially love the bag 😍

    2. Very pretty! I can see Kate wearing this. I like the shoes, too.

    3. The dress is spot on! Not a big fan of drop earrings for day, much prefer a post.

  3. I chose a white dress from Elie Tahari along with Jimmy Choos and Kiki McDonough earrings. The Jimmy Coos are a cobalt blue. I've noticed that Catherine has several pairs of green Kiki earrings. I'm suggesting the green with the white dress and blue shoes to highlight the Wimbleton bow she wears to the matches.

  4. Pale pink dress:
    pink heels:

    1. Those earrings would look gorgeous with that dress. Such a lovely shade of pink!

    2. Love the dress, very similar or possibly the same as Meghan wore just prior to her wedding. The bag for me is a little to cotton candy pink!

    3. Tammy from California31 July 2019 at 21:06

Ruth, I love the dress you chose. Reminds me of the keyhole dress Meghan wore to the baseball game on the top and the dress she wore before her wedding on the bottom. Pale pink is one of my favorite colors on Kate.

  5. Hello all - long time lurker but I rarely comment. I always love reading the blogs though, as well as the comments. I haven't yet thought much about Wimbledon styling, but I had a thought about Kate's clothes, just looking back through the past few years. It struck me that, firstly, there are so many items Kate has worn but I just don't remember them - particularly on tours where there are a lot of looks. Secondly, there are some items that I didn't really like on first look, but looking back they have really grown on me, e.g. the blue Mulberry coat, polo neck and black and white D&G skirt from November 2016. I look back and think - wow, that was a really underrated outfit! I wonder if these lines of thinking could be incorporated into a post at all while we get through the summer months?!

    1. I agree — have had the exact same thoughts. Flashback posts would be a lot of fun!

    2. The opposite is also true. Sometimes (though not often) there are outfits that I like in the excitement of the moment, but when I look back I can’t remember why I liked it so much.

    3. Yes exactly RachelZA - I feel the same about quite a few outfits!

  6. Alaina from NJ29 July 2019 at 14:38

These are always my favorite posts! For my outfit, I chose a mix of new and currently owned pieces.

Zennia rose-print jacquard flounced midi skirt

    V-Neck Blouse in white

Currently owned - pale pink morganite Kiki McDonough earrings (I think this is the pair she owns or this is similar to her pair)

Currently owned - Mappin & Webb Fortune White Gold Drop Necklace (It doesn’t look like its on the website any longer)

Currently owned - Schutz Dollie sandals

Gate mini leather cross-body bag (blue)

  7. Dress - striped

    Shoes - raspberry

    Handbag - berry blitz

    Sunglasses - Kate’s black Wayfarer Ray-Bans

  8. Pam from Boston29 July 2019 at 15:26

This comes at a time of year that's busy for me unfortunately and I don't have a lot of time to really look, so I went directly to one of the designers that I love - Erdem. If not always the designs themselves, I do love the patterns (for the most part) but they tend to be large and dark, not appropriate for Wimbledon, so I went there looking to see if there isn't something in a lighter color and a smaller print, and happily found the very pretty Finn Dress Floral Embroidered Crepe:

(please try to show the dress in close up if possible, so show the pretty pattern better) I think this dress is very Kate....the neckline, the cap sleeves. I would shorten it somewhat to make it a bit more summery. Other than that I think it's perfect for Wimbledon.

I chose the cornflower blue from the dress as a good, summery color to coordinate accessories with and found these shoes from Cole Haan in "Pacific Coast" for a day of watching during the tournament:

For finals day when Kate has to give out the trophies and needs to walk on the grass court, I chose something with a thicker heel - in "Cornflower Blue":

And she can carry this handbag from Botkier (as a satchel - with the shoulder straps removed) in "Blue Cadet":

and wear her Ray Ban Wayfarer II sunglasses.

    1. Love your look Pam!! Especially with the Sam Edelman sandals!! It's interesting but for all the criticism that Erdem gets, there are already three beautiful suggestions for Erdem in the early entries as well as prints with blue/lavender flowers! Love to see everybody's creativity, keeping to Kate's style, but branching out a little. :) cc

    2. I really love that Erdem, great find! The print is perfect. - Kristen

    3. Pam from Boston1 August 2019 at 17:35

Charlotte, when you show my look, please show the Sam Edelman shoes and not the Cole Haans. I agree with CeCe that they're a better choice and I think ones that Kate would more likely wear.

  9. My suggestion for a day at Wimbledon: the bespoke Alexander McQueen white eyelet suit dress (v-neck, short sleeves, little peplum, full skirt, belt) Kate wore in Singapore during the 2012 tour. I find this the most perfect of her dresses for Wimbledon, for I think it has it all: it's white, light, feminine, elegant but not too stiff, appropriate for a Patron but also easy for a fan having fun watching sport, and the full skirt reminds one of vintage tennis skirts. It's perfectly taylored but a very summery and comfortable cotton, so both royal and sporty. To be accessorized with purple and green, Wimbledon's colours, and obviously her official brooch.

    1. Lucille in Tn.29 July 2019 at 20:46

Great sugestion, Camilla! One of my favorites, too, for all the reasons you listed.

  10. I forgot to put the link for my suggestion:

    Camilla from Italy

    Thank you

  11. Oh, I loved this year's blue dress so much that I decided she should make that she should wear more of the same and since I also love vintage Kate I love this 40's inspired dress by Bernadette:
And some of her green Kikis for earrings - can't make up my mind here ;)

    Thanks for your work

    Miss Lucas
Shoes and clutch in green honoring Wimbledon:

  12. Hello Charlotte! Thanks for holding this yearly tradition of styling Kate at this time of year! I particularly look forward to it. This is my contribution:

    Shoes/ sandals:

    Jewellery: Oscar de la Renta Pearl Sun-Star earrings and Cartier Ballon Bleu watch;

Her hair would styled in an inverted ponytail similar to this (!!-:strip_icc-!!-/2016/10/14/728/n/1922153/6742f023580107a424ab29.25551714_edit_img_cover_file_15110365_1476460620/i/Kate-Middleton-Hair-Topsy-Tail-Ponytail.jpg)

    1. Oooh, I love this look! I’ve been wanting to see Kate in Reiss for a long time! The asymmetric dress in summery colours...the shoes...the bag...what’s not to love?! :)

  13. The beautiful eyelet dress that the Duchess wore at the zoo in Sydney with Prince William and Prince George, with a pair of her beautiful green gem earrings as a bid to the colours of Wimbledon

  14. Sonja from Bavaria29 July 2019 at 17:58

I wasn't expecting to do this again this year, what a pleasant surprise! I also love the idea of putting together a Wimbledon looks so here comes my pick:

A white dress (simply the best colour against the green lawn) with pretty floral embroidery:

    Kate's Catherine Zoraida leaf earrings:

I would add a matching golden bracelet:

And for a summer-y pop of colour Kate's red Miu Miu clutch:

The nude ankle strap heels Kate debuted at Wimbledon this year (I just adore them and am considering ordering them for myself!) :

Thank you for doing this again, Charlotte - I am looking forward to seeing all the beautiful outfits!

    1. Tammy from California31 July 2019 at 21:09

Sonja I LOVE this dress!! Wow! LOVELOVELOVE

  15. Meredith in Boston29 July 2019 at 18:25

I would love to see Kate try the jumpsuit trend. This flowing Erdem in a striking print looks like a dress at first glance. I would pair it with her Victoria Beckham Quincy “Wimbledon bag,” Office Nina block heel sandals and Bulgari sunglasses, and Diana’s sapphire and diamond earrings. Thanks for doing this every summer, it is so much fun to play stylist for the Duchess!

Erdem Ellamay belted floral-print silk crepe de chine jumpsuit
    White floral colorway

    Office Nina Block Heel sandals
Victoria Beckham Quincy Leather Tote Bag
    Bulgari Women's BV8170 Sunglasses

    Diana’s diamond and sapphire earrings

    1. Pam from Boston29 July 2019 at 22:15

I love the Erdem jumpsuit! I can see Kate getting on board with the jumpsuit trend.

    2. Caroline in Montana30 July 2019 at 16:10

I can totally see it too! She could rock the jumpsuit!!

  16. I love this challenge as it's an opportunity to come up with a more relaxed outfit.

I'd like to see Kate in this navy and white DvF dress:

accessorised with these Birman sandals in flamingo pink:

    and this white Alaia tote:

I love Kate's Asprey woodland jewellery and would love her to wear her oak leaf earrings and her charm necklace with the addition of the blue butterfly charm:

  17. Caroline in Montana29 July 2019 at 19:49

ok Charlotte, I gave it my best shot, I am not so tech advanced but this is so fun that I had to try!! Thanks for doing this to keep us entertained. Cant wait till they are all back the summer break!

    Emilia Wickstead Dress:

    Black Stuart Weitzman Muse Clutch:,2,5,6

    Kiki Mcdonough earings:

    Shoes Black Prada cutout pumps:

    Her Cartier Ballon Bleu watch:

can not identify the glasses in this photo but I think it was from a Wimbledon past :(,2,5,6

with her hair down and black wimbleton accent bow.

I think this would be soft and feminine with the simple black accents making a bit of a pop.

    1. that is a stunning dress and perfect for kate

  18. Ana B. from Brazil29 July 2019 at 20:41

    Hi Charlotte!!
These are my choices of dress, sandals, handbag and earrings... the duchess would also wear a low ponytail.
    Thank you!!

  19. I would love to see her in a jumpsuit, because I think she could pull it off. Wimbledon would be a good place to try something a little more fun and carefree.

This “Diana” navy and white polka dot jumpsuit from LK Bennett:

    All repeats on the rest:

    Shoes: her white Superga sneaks

Accessories: Asprey oak leaf hoops, Asprey woodland charm necklace, Cartier ballon bleu watch, the “big blue” ring :)

Purse: Victoria Beckham Quincy bag in white

    - Kristen in Austin

    1. Sorry, here are the rest of my links!

I'm adding, that I think this outfit would be cute with a sporty hat-band of some kind:

      Superga Shoes:

Woodland Charm Necklace (pics from this site show her wearing a trio, here is the oak leaf):

      VB Quincy Bag:

      -Kristen in Austin! :)

  20. I love this page and this event! This is my first I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
My goals--Duchess Catherine has a simple, classic style I want to stay in line with; it is a sporting event, so perhaps be a little sporty; she is a sponser, so align the colors with the green and purple ribbon she wears. I did not find exactly what I wanted, but I have annotated the items.
a reminder of the ribbon she wears and why
this is in blue, but I would like to see it in dark green
    white pump sandals
    green croc handled purse

Black tahitian pearls naturally glimmer green and purple, so her jewelry in black tahitian pearls/white gold

Pull her hair into a scarf wrapped ponytail with this (which should only show the colors, not the pattern)

Let me know what you think and how I could do better. Is it too sporty? Too mixed sporty and elegant? Tell me how I could do better

    1. Hello Princess May, would you be so kind as to share a link for your sandals.

  21. I’m going with a new dress and repeated accessories. Hair would be up in a ponytail.

    Dress by Catherine Walker:

    Earrings by Kiki McDonough:

    Bag by Aspinal:!!-:strip_icc-!!-/2018/10/09/665/n/1922564/990489f45bbcc212362353.77693576_/i/Kate-Middleton-Purple-Bag-From-Aspinal-London-2018.jpg

    Shoes by L.K. Bennett:

  22. This is quite formal, but very 'Kate' I think, so it would be for a trophy presentation day rather than a visit earlier in the fortnight. with the (tennis ball shaped) bag shown with it and navy sling backs

Kate loves her Asprey 167 button pendant. I'd style this outfit with the ruby version and rose gold earrings

    1. Rita in Florida29 July 2019 at 22:09

SuffolkSarah what a great dress!! Love your choice. The dress and bag are such a bold statement I would probably forego the necklace, but I am obsessed with the dress! Excellent choice!

    2. Love your choice, Sarah. Maria

  23. Ana B. from Brazil29 July 2019 at 21:39

    Hi Charlotte!!
These are my choices of dress, sandals, handbag and earrings... the duchess would also wear a low ponytail.
    Thank you!!

  24. There are really great looks represented here.

  25. Hi Charlotte!

    Roland Mouret white/cream jumpsuit:

    White Prada pumps:

    YSL metallic gold shoulder bag:

Worn with Kate's Cassandra Goad 'Temple of Heaven' earrings.

  26. I love Kate's summer style! Especially with more wavy hair! My picks are...

    This dress in cream:

    These shoes in lapis:

This amazing bag in blue and gold:

Plus her In2Design Baroque Pearl Earrings and her trusty RayBan Wayfairer sunglasses. And her ring of course! (Watch is optional, I'm not a big watch person...haha!)

This is always such fun! Thank you! -flora

  27. hi hello charlotte i love you bring up the styling let start

im kinds experiment i love the she wears the designer from Asia to America then to Europe

This 100% silk dress from Madderson London has a fresh and summery print, and more importantly hits at the knee for comfort and a level of appropriateness. I would style it with Kate's navy pumps and navy clutch, but she has a plethora of different options in her closet.

  29. I went with a vibrant green lace dress by Dolce & Gabbana that just represents summer to me! White shoes for a sharp contrast and a matching handbag.

    • (colour: green)
    • (colour: off-white)
    • (The Kiki studs Kate already owns)
    • (colour: off-white)
    • (Kate already has these sunglasses)

    That was so much fun!

    Maria in Germany

  30. Dress - in Bubblegum

    Shoes - in nude

Handbag - in flesh pink 1

    Earrings - in pink

    Watch -

    Sunglasses - in tortoise/brown

And, or course, her Wimbledon bow 😊

  31. Hello Charlotte and all readers, I love this challenge :-) My outfit is here:

    white Roland Mouret Braxton top:

    green culottes:

    and Will´s vegan city sandals:

I´m looking forward to all of your looks. Have fun! Thank you, Charlotte!

  32. On the first tour of Canada shortly after the wedding she wore a blue and white two piece outfit on, I believe Prince Edward Island. I think the designer was Sarah Burton. I loved it so much I would have bought it if I could have afforded it. She then wore it again to Wimbledon. Perhaps my favorite of all her outfits and I think it would be great for her to wear it again at Wimbledon.

  33. I resisted temptation to look for a new dress and instead decided to build my outfit around a dress Kate already owns.
The Emilia Wickstead midi dress from the India Tour would totally be Kate's style considering her past preference for midi dresses at Wimbledon. Also, I prefer the simplicity of a light colour for this event.

To really differentiate this look from the last time she wore the dress, I would style her hair up in a high ponytail.

    Kate's brown Ray Ban sunglasses

I was thinking about a rose gold theme for shoes and jewellery and then I stumbled across such beautiful eye-catching pieces by Kate favourite Annoushka that would be great with such a simple dress.

    - Little Miss Sunshine

    1. I love this dress! I hope we see it again soon too!

    2. Meredith from Boston2 August 2019 at 20:32

Fabulous earrings! I have always loved this dress too, and also the pink Rupert Sanderson pumps she wore with it, that I don't think we've seen again. Maybe they're not comfortable!

  34. Dress:

  35. Charlotte, i hear rumbles about the fact that The Duchess of Cambridge is pregnant again, could this be true?

    1. Hello Tinneke,

I haven't seen anything myself, although there's always rumours, but I don't think so :)

  36. While I was browsing the Emmy London page, I fell in love with a set of pumps + clutch:

I know thatthey are a bit too formal for Wimbledon, but Kate definitely needs them in her closet!
I tried to style an outfit around them and would suggest a longer (looks just more professional) version of this Paule Ka dress:

  37. I know you said to only list one outfit but I am in between two outfits and can't decide so I'm just going to post both (sorry for the extra work)
    1st outfit
    Dress: ttps://
gold hoops that she already owns: Catherine Zoraida Fern Hoop earrings.
Any of her navy blue pumps that she owns
    2nd outfit
her red pumps that she wore to Archie’s christening
accessories for red/pink outfit : nd £8 Accessorize Polly Petal Drop earrings.
red miu miu bag that she already owns:

  38. What a fun idea! Jumpsuits are super comfortable, but still formal, so I decided to base my outfit off of a jumpsuit.

Phase Eight Nerissa Floaty Jumpsuit, Camo/Ivory

Coach Charlie Leather Carryall Tote Bag, Stone

Her Nicholes sandals in the color "Bone"

    Her In2Design Baroque earrings, gold/white

And, of course, her favorite Rag-Ban Icons Wayfarer II Sunglasses

    1. Her hair would also be done in a half-back style with curled ends.

  39. I love this styling challenge! Wimbledon is such a fun event, but it presents a few challenges--weather, sitting for a long period of time, something that looks good waist up as well as full length. I saw some amazing Pucci geometric and Dolce & Gabbana florals that I loved, but here is what I settled on:

A dress from a designer that I don't think Kate has worn before Cefinn. The two tone dress is bold, but not too bold, and would be flattering on Kate. I love the belt and the length. It also combines red and pink, both of which she wears often and look great with her dark hair.

I chose the Aspinal Midi Madison Tote in Peony Saffiano. She always wears cute purses for Wimbledon and I don't think she has a pink purse yet. I coordinated that purse with the Gianvito Rossi Portofino sandals in the same pale pink. The sandals are a bit trendy with the ankle strap, but I think they would look amazing on her.

  40. Okay. Here goes. I hope all the links work.

Erdem Polly Dress: The photos include a back belt option which Catherine likes. I chose this as redemption for some of her Erdem choices of the past. There were other lovely options in the 2019 collection I also thought highly suitable, but this one is youthfully fresh and works equally for Catherine and Wimbledon.

Just because she’s never quite jazzy enough for me with her shoes I chose the Peep toe Point Shoes in Black to riff off the belt.

Then this Valentino Shoulder Bag to complement the green tones in the dress. She could also carry her favourite white tote instead, but something new is always nice.

    White Butterfly Sunglasses by Chanel

Blue Moonstone earrings or she could select from several of the blue, green or pearl options she already owns.

Add her go-to Cartier watch and style the hair either half up or in a messy ponytail so that the earrings aren’t lost in her gorgeous hair. Frankly, I’d like to see her try a messy bun, but I doubt that will ever happen. If it does, I’ll eat bluehare’s hat.

her black sandals (she wore with the white black dotted dress),
    and her Givenchy sun glasses

    Best, Maria

    1. And I forgot the earrings:
Worn with Kate's Cassandra Goad 'Temple of Heaven' earrings. Maria

  42. I have breezed through all the lovely selections. It has occurred to me that what we are really viewing is the personal choice of the stylist who is submitting the fashion statement that they would wear themselves if given a choice without budget restraints. I must say, very stylish ladies are out there!

    1. I suspect that you are right, USA Granny. However, I'm an exception and there might be others. The Erdem dress I chose is not one I would choose for myself as I do not have Catherine's body type or height. As a professional stylist would, I thoughtfully considered her preferences and choices over the years. Because I am a Canadian I chose something I thought would flatter her from a Canadian designer I like. (That said, I don't like every Erdem dress--just as I don't like every option from McQueen or Gucci or Chanel or whatever.)

Then I also chose shoes with a little more pizazz than the Duchess usually wears. If I were her stylist I would nudge her in directions that would be less matronly and conservative than her usual choices, but not quite outside her comfort zone.

    White sandals Aquamarine

  45. Tammy from California31 July 2019 at 20:52

I'd like her to look sporty-chic, if this makes any sense. Chic enough to hand out awards, but a print and hairdo that say, "I'm here for the competition".

Dress by Neiman Marcus in blue. I like the ties at the neck and waist. They are fun, feminine and ties representing sport- you lace up for the game. I also like the geometric pattern- "angles" of the court:

For shoes, I'd like to see her in Stuart Weitzman Jennifer Suede Shoes in Navy. You can't tell in this picture, but if you go to this same shoe in cream, you can see there is a basket weave in the shoe that goes with the pattern of the dress and the bow is fun, feminine and matches the Wimbledon bow she wears as patron:

For earrings I'd like something small, so as not to take away the tie at the top of her dress. I'd like to see white-ish earrings though and think her Hope Egg earrings from Links Of London would be nice:

For her hair, I like the chic pony she rocked at the 2017 Chelsea flower show. For sporting events, I love it:

She could wear her blue cartier watch to add to the sport feel of the outfit and it keeps with the blue color of her shoes while the silver goes well with the earrings:

  46. Tammy from California31 July 2019 at 21:03

CHARLOTTE! I forgot to put sunglasses with my look. I'd like to see her borrow a look from sis-in-law Meghan with Le Specs Bandwagon Sunglasses in Raw Sugar with blue polarized lenses:

  47. Alright, here comes my pick - I chose a jumpsuit as a departure from her usual style: in white with a floral pattern in yellow

    By Couch Potato

    1. Oh, I would love a jumpsuit on her! Good choice!

  48. The small circles on the green jumpsuit kind of reminded me of tennis balls on the lawn :)

    New black sunglasses

    A new delicate bracelet

    - Downton Abbey Fan

  49. Summer Dress- Victoria Beckham capped sleeved dress in pink

    Sandals- Nina Block Heel sandals,37/2552700482

Handbag- Stuart Weitzman Muse Clutch in black

    Watch- Cartier Balloon Bleu watch

    Ray Ban wayfarers

    - Nancy USA

    1. That's a very pretty dress Nancy, lovely color and interesting material. Would like to see Kate wear Victoria Beckham clothing sometimes. cc

    2. I thought it was bright and cheery like the yellow dress she wore to Wimbledon a few years ago. I also think she looks great in pink and love pink and black together. Since Victoria Beckham is British and I believe Meghan has worn some of her clothes, I thought it would be a great brand for Kate.

    3. Have often wondered why Kate hasn't worn Victoria Beckham being a British brand but also because VB has some great silhouettes that seem to be Kate's style and would work with her willowy figure. This would be a great dress to start with and completely agree its a perfect color for Kate!! :) cc

  50. I think this classic Picture of Björn Borg and John Mcenroe should serve as inspiration for Kate:

  51. I LOVE THIS! I went for Wimbledon whites, since I just love the fresh summery look.

Dress: Suzannah Starflower midi knot dress:

    Shoes: Stuart Weitzman sandals:

    Bag: Nancy Gonzalez wicker bag:

Earrings: Fallon Fern Swag earrings (Daytime bling!!) :

Charlotte, one last thing. I forgot handbag. My choice:

Promise I’ll not add one thing more!

  57. For Wimbledon, I have chosen the LK Bennett ‘Lou’ dress in pink and paired it with her Rupert Sanderson ‘Calice’ pumps.
I have chosen the Strathberry midi tote in white/rose/burgundy, her Bvlgari 'BV8170’ sunglasses and some new jewellery alongside her Cartier watch. The Mappin & Webb ‘Masquerade’ earrings and Cartier ‘Love’ bracelet in white gold with diamonds set in. Of course, her Wimbledon bow would also be worn.

    Erin - NZ

  58. I decided to mostly recycle. So I'd start with one of my favorite dressess, the LK Bennett Lasa dress worn in Australia.

Pairing it with her Victoria Beckham Quincy Bag as it big enough to hold what she will need for the day.

    New shoes:

I'd love to see her wear the bracelet Camilla gave her, and her double leaf gold earrings. I was also thinking that since she is now a patron of Wimbledon, maybe she needs a diamond tennis bracelet!!

Sunglasses and her Wimbledon bow are both a must.

    Hope from USA

  59. "Love" bracelet! For tennis. Did a double take on that one. Clever idea, Erin! Is tennis a big sport in NZ?

    1. Haha, I didn't even realise! I just think the bracelet is a beautiful piece and many royals wear it on a day-to-day basis and I'd love to see Kate in it.
I wouldn't say tennis is big in NZ, but I'm not big on any sports, though patriotism comes through at Rugby world cup time!

    2. You have reason to be proud. Your team is awesome!

  63. Every year when is time of Wimbledon I hope that Duchess Kate would wear beautiful tailored suit from McQueen which she worn in Singapure and India.Unfortunately it didn't happen but I still can dream and show us my creation.
I would add to white colour of Wimbledon lively touch of red.Shoes from Rossi are formal and smart. Handbag and earrings are funny, summery accesories. I try to keep balance between formality and fun with fashion.

  73. I thought it would be wonderful to see Kate in Victoria Beckham - after all at such a major UK event, shouldn't Kate wear a UK designer? - and I chose this lovely, yet simple soft pink midi length dress for Kate:

Accessorized with her new purse that she carried on her first outing at Wimbledon this year and these L.K. Bennett sandal heels:

For jewelry, I would love to see the 4 pearl necklace that Kate wore in Paris and Poland with the large round earrings. And then of course her Wimbledon bow (which should look lovely on the soft pink. And her black Givenchy sunglasses.

Kate should wear her hair in a ponytail for a nice change.

  75. Well, as I was one that thought she’d “struck out” this season- with three clear misses, I’d better enter this one! Lol.
I’ve gone for simple cool summer dressing with minimalist modern accessories. There’s any number of options one could take with the dress, with patent and assorted pops of colour for accessories. For the Duchess, I’ve left it very simple and clean with minimal “tricks”. She’s a rather “classic” person, to be honest. I think the object is therefore to dress “her” and not satisfy my own personal desires. So this is what I’ve gone with, I had to search the “summer sale” racks to make this happen!

HVN Maria dress, 100% Silk CDC colour: rainbow cherry , sale US$330
    Bergdorf Goodman

Mark Cross Murphy mini bucket bag, white, sale £1,669 with red interior accent

Her favourite style Ray Ban Wayfarer with a red rim, sale £90

Kiki McDonogh citrine and diamond cushion drop earrings, £1400 (already owned, as I recall.)

    Cartier Ballon Blue watch (owned)

I've done a photo for the elements so you don't have to put it together-but can't sort how to post it for you! Let me know an email address and I'll send it on!

    1. Oliver, my apologies, I'm just seeing this now. I've done a photo of your look but please don't hesitate to let me know if you would like me to use the version you created.

      My email is

I am looking forward to seeing the finished looks!

  77. As always, I am doing everything last minute ;)
    Here is my proposed look:

Kate used to love Goat (although she hasn't worn this label in a while), so I chose a very "Jackie O" blue dress from their collection (could you take the first picture with the model wearing the dress? )

New diamond studs (the round shape should pick up the shape of the buttons on the dress)

    Kate's Cartier ballon bleu watch

To change up her usual style, I would have her wear flats (especially for an event like Wimbledon)

A navy patent clutch by L.K. Bennett to match the navy ballet flats

    S. from E.

  78. Here is my submission for a summer day at Wimbledon:

    Hair in a ponytail:
