Latest Kate News, Pippa's Vanity Fair Style, Princess Madeleine Gets Married + More

Hello Duchess Kate readers, I hope you're all having a lovely weekend!

Despite media reports regarding William and Kate's attendance at two weddings this weekend it appears the Cambridges were neither present at the wedding of Kate's ex-boyfriend Rupert Finch, who tied the knot with Beulah designer Natasha Rufus Isaacs, nor the wedding of William's close pal Peregrine Hood who married Vogue editor Serena Nikkah in Wiltshire today. I thought we would see Kate at Rupert Finch's wedding but surprisingly not. Princess Eugenie and Prince Harry's girlfriend Cressida Bonas were in attendance.

Natasha looked beautiful in a Beulah wedding gown.

Royal photographer Mark Stewart shared this via Twitter yesterday:

Kate and Lupo were spotted travelling by train on Thursday by excited tweeter Lee Nelson who shared a (very, very blurry) photo of the Duchess and her dog.

In other news, there are reports Trooping The Colour on June 15th will be Kate's last official appearance meaning the Duchess will not be attending the Order of the Garter ceremonies on June 17th. As the two events are within two days of each other I find it unlikely Kate won't attend but a couple of the royal correspondents do believe it to be the case.

Kate's younger sister Pippa Middleton has landed a plum job as a contributing editor for Vanity Fair. The 'Celebrate' author wrote about Wimbledon for her first column and her love of tennis, revealing she first went to Wimbledon at eight years old and was, by then, already a keen tennis player.

Pippa recalls queueing with Kate for tennis tickets:

'I queued from 5 a.m. on People's Sunday in 2004 with my sister for three hours and getting £35 tickets on centre court. Seats were a free-for-all and I recall almost tripping over myself to get as close as possible to my birthday twin - British hero Tim Henman.'

We rarely include Pippa on the blog but I chose to include this segment because so many of you were in touch asking about the 29-year-old's sartorial choices in the photo shoot. The amazing Pippa Middleton's Style identified Pippa's looks immediately.

Below we see Pippa looking very glamorous in the Valentino Embroidered Dress With Cut-Out Detail. The dress features a concealed snapped placket, side slit pockets, transparent lining and is 100% cotton. The piece is available at My Theresa.

The other white dress which proved popular is by French brand Courrèges. The Robe 100 dress is available in a variety of colours for $1600. Other pieces from the brand can be purchased at Farfetch.

Did any of you read Pippa's article? If so, did you enjoy it?

While William and Kate may not have attended a wedding today, one very special royal wedding took place today. Sweden's Princess Madeleine married Christopher O Neill in Stockholm this afternoon. The bride looked simply stunning in a Valentino gown.

More on Princess Madeleine's dress from the official press release:

'The wedding dress is made from pleated silk organza and appliqued ivory-coloured chantilly lace. The upper section of the bodice is lace with a deep-cut back. Narrow vertical pleats open up from the accentuated waist, above the wide skirt, which ends with a four-metre-long train.'

The couple looked very happy and very much in love.

Interestingly, Christopher O'Neill declined a Swedish title and will return to America where he works at an investment banking firm while Madeleine will work at the World Childhood Foundation (apologies for the off-topic nature of today's post, but we do love a royal wedding :)).
