Kate to Resume Duties Next Week, an Easter Appearance? & Exclusive Discount!

Hello, hello!

We're back with several bits and bytes to chat about today. The Cambridges have been spending much of their children's lengthy Easter break in Norfolk ahead of term resuming. They were photographed at the Burnham Horse Trials with the Tindalls last Friday. I expect they will return to London over the weekend. Of course, Easter Sunday service at Windsor is a tradition for the Queen and members of the Royal family. This year, it also coincides with Her Majesty's 93rd birthday. I would say it's a very safe bet to assume we'll see them there. Attendance is not confirmed beforehand, as it's a private service and not an official engagement. We first saw the Cambridges join the monarch in 2017. Reporters heralded the couple's appearance as a result of their full-time move to London and increasing responsibilities. Kate sported her cream Catherine Walker coat and a matching pillbox hat.

Last year, the couple travelled to Windsor from Bucklebury where they were enjoying Easter weekend with the Middletons. Kate, who was in her final weeks of pregnancy with Louis, chose her brown Catherine Walker coat and pearl jewellery.

Speaking of the little Prince, Louis celebrates his first birthday on Tuesday. We can expect to see photos, likely taken by Kate, to mark the day. We last saw a photo of him in December when the Cambridge Christmas card was released.

On Thursday, 25 April, the Duchess will resume duties when she attends the Anzac Day service of commemoration and thanksgiving at Westminster Abbey. The annual service remembers the Gallipoli landings of 25th April 1915, and all Australians and New Zealanders who have given their lives in the service of their countries. Anzac Day is a national day of remembrance for Australia and New Zealand. It is commemorated as a public holiday in both countries with memorial ceremonies held at various locations. The Duke of Gloucester will also be in attendance.

Meanwhile, Prince William will travel to Auckland and Christchurch next week to pay tribute to those affected by the Christchurch terrorist attack, and in recognition of the outstanding courage and unity displayed by the people of New Zealand during the aftermath. The Palace said: "His Royal Highness’s official programme will begin on Thursday 25th April in Auckland. The remainder of the Duke’s programme will take place in Christchurch, where His Royal Highness will spend time meeting survivors of the attack and their families, first responders, and Muslim community leaders. Due to the nature of His Royal Highness’s programme, a number of visits will not be announced officially in advance, out of respect for the people the Duke will be meeting with."

In today's retail updates, Kate's Simone Rocha Beaded Drop earrings are available at Nordstrom in several colours.

Kate wore the earrings with her off-the-shoulder McQueen dress for a party at the ambassador's residence in Berlin in 2017.

Middleton Maven notes Kate's Smythe 2 Button Blazer has been restocked at ShopBop. The $795 glen check/black corduroy, tailored, single-breasted silhouette has a traditional riding blazer feel, featuring a contrast collar, flattering pocket flaps and oversized leather buttons.

In case you missed it, a reader identified Kate's boots at the Burnham Horse Trials as the £155 Berghaus Supalite II Goretex boots.

Next, the team at are hosting an Easter event, offering 20% off all their collections from 17 - 22 April. They are offering 'Duchess Kate' readers an additional 10% off with discount code Easter10 during the same time period. The luxury accessories brand have updated their collections with the spring/summer seasons in mind, from holiday essentials to elegant pieces for the coming social season; garden parties, a day at the races or a summer wedding. They are reduced from £55 to £39.60 with the discount code.

The silk scarves are a customer favourite. Below, the Floral Bouquet Print Scarf. It is described as: "A riot of country flowers in wonderful tones of saffron, burgundy, pumpkin and sage, highlighted with touches of ivory, characterise this beautifully composed and chic square 100% silk twill scarf. The central floral design is brought together on a black background which in turn sits on an ivory ground.  Created by a talented young French designer this superb quality silk scarf is a good size at 90cm x 90cm and can be worn as a neck scarf, head scarf or bandana. Tie it to your handbag for a stylish hit of colour."

The Cinnamon and Butterscotch Print Twill Scarf.

The Black Shell Straw Sun Hat and the Cream Shell Straw Sun Hat are embellished with natural shells and woven in Bali from straw from the Pandanus tree.

The Crochet Beach bags are also made in Bali.

The Aphrodite Floral Cotton Poncho Cover Up and the White and Electric Blue Embroidered Cotton Kaftan Top.

The vibrant Aruba scarf is described: "Rich vibrant hues, evocative of tropical flowers and sunset, characterise this colour block Merino wool and silk scarf. Ablaze with tones of flame orange and deep fuchsia, the generously sized scarf is designed in four woven panels, two of which are a melange of the two principal tones creating an effect not unlike shot silk. Soft to the touch the scarf is light and warm and a perfect choice for summer. Finished with a short eyelash fringe."

Upcoming Engagements, A Day Trip to Cyprus, Kate-Related Black Friday Deals & Exlusive Discount!

It's time for our annual Black Friday post featuring a round up of exclusive discounts and Kate-related sales opportunities. Before we delve in, word on several upcoming engagements for the Duke and Duchess.

William and Kate pay tribute to those who were tragically killed in the helicopter crash at Leicester City Football Club’s King Power Stadium on Saturday 27th October. The tragedy touched the nation; it promises to be a very poignant day. Kensington Palace added:

'Their Royal Highnesses knew the club’s chairman, Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha, and wanted to visit the city to recognise the warmth and compassion that the people of Leicester and fans of Leicester City Football Club have shown in reaction to the accident.
The Duke and Duchess will begin the day by visiting the tribute site near the stadium to pay their respects to those killed in the accident, before meeting with a group of players and members of the club’s management team. Their Royal Highnesses will then meet volunteers and club supporters who helped to relocate the thousands of tributes which were left outside the front of the stadium to the site.
Afterwards, the Duke and Duchess will visit King Power Stadium itself where they will meet with representatives from local charities who were supported by Mr. Srivaddhanaprabha. Their Royal Highnesses will hear how his support enabled the charities to better the lives of people in the wider Leicester community.'
Next, Their Royal Highnesses will visit the University of Leicester to hear about some of the educational programmes that Leicester City Football Club has helped to support. This includes a £1m donation made by Mr. Srivaddhanaprabha in May 2018, which will be used to help fund medical research and training at the University through the creation of a Professorship in Child Health.'

Over the course of the 4th and 5th December, William and Kate will undertake two engagements in London and in Cyprus in support of deployed military personnel and their families who will be apart over the festive period. The Palace said: "Across these two engagements Their Royal Highnesses wish to deliver a message of support to deployed personnel and to acknowledge the fact that many Serving personnel are away from their families at this time of the year." On Tuesday 4th December, The Duke and Duchess will host a Christmas party supported by the Poppy Legion in London for families and children of deployed personnel from RAF Coningsby and RAF Marham serving in Cyprus.

That night, we expect to see them arriving for the annual Diplomatic Reception.

On Wednesday 5th December, the couple will make a day trip to Cyprus. They will fly to RAF Akrotiri to meet with serving personnel, families living on the base, wider station personnel and members of the local community.

Given William's ties to the RAF and Kate's role as Honorary Air Commandant, it seems an incredibly fitting choice for pre-Christmas engagements.

We begin our coverage of Black Friday weekend with an exclusive discount from luxury accessories brand The British brand has been featured on the blog several times over the years and it's a delight to receive an exclusive discount once again. From 23-26 November, shoppers can take 20% off everything site wide. Duchess Kate readers can avail of a further 10% off (30% total reduction) by entering HRH10 at the checkout. With the gifting season in full swing, there's an array of timeless, elegant accessories which add the perfect finishing touch to a winter ensemble. Made from satin Lycra the gloves are stretchy ensuring a snug flattering fit. They are perfect for weddings, smart day wear and of course the cocktail hour". Below, the gloves in black and navy.

Animal prints are a wardrobe staple this season and the ideal addition to a neutral outfit. The Brown Leopard Print and Merino Wool Scarf features warm tones of chocolate, coffee and copper on a natural background which gives depth to the design, while the silk in the fabric radiates a subtle sheen. Hand crafted in a skilful blend of silk and Merino wool, at 210 x 75cm it is large enough to wear as a shawl and to style in a number of ways.

The Ivory Daydream Silk Scarf in striking tones was created by a talented young French designer. Accent tones of rich copper and forest green on a monotone base of black and ivory are framed by a solid ivory border. The piece is crafted from high-quality silk twill.

The Hand Woven Chunky Herringbone Cashmere Poncho is described: "The chunky herringbone weave of this substantial and divinely warm 100% pashmina cashmere poncho in black and natural differentiates it from knitted ponchos and ensures it stands out from the crowd. Hand spun and hand woven on traditional looms by Kashmiri artisans using techniques and skills passed down from generation to generation using only the finest cashmere yarn, it has a unique and natural look. Exquisitely soft to the touch it is the perfect warm and cosy winter cover up. Try it over black jeans or a pencil skirt for a chic and elegant look."

The Ariadne Tahitian Black Pearl and Sterling Silver Earrings and matching ring are sourced in Tahiti by a French family company whose experience and dedication to quality has led to the creation of elegant jewellery with a contemporary simplicity which reflects the beauty and uniqueness of each black pearl.

Kate's Maternity Repeats, Your Royal Baby Name Guesses & Exclusive Easter Discount!

Hello, hello!

Seeing your guesses and choices for Baby Cambridge's name have been such fun, thank you all so much for participating. I absolutely love activities involving the engagement of the community here, and this one was one of the most enjoyable thus far. Here are your winning names, all splendid choices!

When it came to guessing the baby's gender it was a very close race with a majority of 54% guessing the royal baby will be a girl. We'll know the answer to that in the coming weeks! :)

Before we get started on our series looking at Kate's work and patronages (a big thank you to everyone who commented on the idea with feedback and suggestions) we're going to take a look at her maternity wardrobe. Tonight, we're looking through repeats which were debuted when Kate was expecting George and Charlotte and which made the cut again this time around. First, it's arguably one of Kate's favourite maternity coats: the GOAT Redgrave. She first wore the piece in 2013 - when she was expecting Prince George - for a visit to Child Bereavement UK, and again last November for an engagement with Family Action. Kate was also spotted wearing it last week for a tennis meeting at Kensington Palace, and chose it again for her final engagements before taking maternity leave.

For an 'Away Day' in Birmingham, Kate repeated the GOAT Washington Coat she debuted in New York in 2014. The heavy-weight, black crepe coat features a classic swing coat shape and contrast nude tabs on the cuff and back and decorative contrast enamel buttons. Kate switched up the styling from a dress and pumps to black jeans and pumps.

Most of us were pleased to see the return of Kate's much-loved DVF Zarita gown. Kate first wore the fitted gown with sheer lace detailing for the 2014 Royal Variety Performance when she was expecting Charlotte. The Anna Freud Centre gala dinner was the perfect occasion to give it another outing. Sparkling jewels made this a classic evening look for Kate.

Next, it's the Séraphine Marina Coat the Duchess wore for the Magic Mums Christmas party in North Kensington. I loved the coat when Kate first sported it in New York in 2014 and was delighted to see it make a second appearance. The striking purple hue, bouclé tweed and sparkling silver threads made this a perfect December coat.

William and Kate were first photographed in 2018 attending Sunday Service on the Sandringham estate with members of the Royal family. Kate brought back the Moloh Turpin coat she debuted on Christmas Day 2014 when she was expecting Princess Charlotte. The brown and cream check coat with flecks of orange was styled differently on its second wear - that time with the Lacorine Russian-style Sumac hat and a Chanel bag.

The Duchess wore her Séraphine Florrie Dress for an engagement with Place2Be in January. Kate debuted the piece in 2015 when she was expecting Charlotte during a visit to Stoke-on-Trent.

Also from Kate's New York 2014 wardrobe, the Tory Burch Bettina coat worn again for a surprise appearance at the Anna Freud conference.

And the pink Mulberry coat worn in New York was a vibrant choice for a lovely 'away day' in Coventry.

Kate launched Mentally Healthy Schools wearing the blue SportsMax coat she debuted when she was expecting Charlotte.

Kate brought back the gorgeous Séraphine Natasha Coat she first wore for maternal mental health engagements in January, when she was expecting Charlotte. On both occasions, Kate wore her Florrie dress underneath.

Kate wore her stylish 'Downton Coat' again for an engagement with Family Links earlier this month. The cream JoJo Maman Bebe piece made it's debut for a visit to the set of Downton Abbey in 2015 when Kate was expecting Princess Charlotte. It's a very elegant and versatile maternity coat.

For the Commonwealth Day service, Kate chose the navy Beulah London Chiara coat she first wore for a service of commemoration to mark the end of combat operations in Afghanistan at St Paul's Cathedral, when she was expecting Princess Charlotte. The Chiara trapeze coat was described: "This piece is cut in a fit-and-flare silhouette and makes layering easy and comfortable. Concealed buttons to keep the design clean and elegant."

Next, we have an exclusive Easter discount for readers from the folks at luxury accessories brand They are offering 20% off over 600 accessories for women (the discount is pre-applied on the website) and an additional 10% for Duchess Kate readers with the discount code HRH10

The Black Bow Gloves remain a firm favourite at the brand. Described as "short black cocktail gloves with an elegant and pristine side bow at the wrist. Made from satin Lycra the gloves are stretchy ensuring a snug flattering fit. They are perfect for weddings smart day wear and of course the cocktail hour". With the discount code the gloves are reduced from £45 to £32.40. Below, the bow gloves in black and navy.

The pair in ivory are an elegant accessory for summer weddings.

The brand has a beautiful selection of silk scarves on offer in an array of colours and prints. Made in France, the Peacock Print Silk Scarf features rich iridescent blue and turquoise with an accent of yellow set against a jet black background.

The Floating Leaves Silk Scarf is particularly elegant and adds a vibrant touch of colour with hues of sapphire, emerald and chartreuse with an accent of yellow.

The Black, White and Biscuit Tiger Print Silk Scarf and the Red, White and Blue Tiger Print Scarf are striking accessories. We also see the Bird Print Skinny Silk Scarf and the Geometric Military Silk Scarf.

With spring underway and summer on the horizon, it's the perfect time to inject a seasonal pop of colour into your wardrobe. I personally love pastels. The selection of Cashmere Wraps in Pastel Lemon, Minty Green, Baby Blue and Pastel Pink are ultra soft and lightweight. The choices of colours are inspired by ice cream parlour shades.

For those thinking of a little early holiday shopping, there's a variety of beach accessories in stock. Below, the Sand and Black Wide Brimmed Hat and the Black and Gold Striped Sun Hat.

The Butterfly Silk Kaftan comes in ivory white silk and is embellished with a black silk applique butterfly back and front, and finished with two black silk bands. It's also available in cream. Other kaftans perfect for the beach include the Brown Crocodile Print Kaftan and the Marrakesh Hand Embroidered Linen Kaftan.

The Coffee Cream and White Straw Tote is a steal after discounts (roughly £35).

Jewellery from talented designers includes artisan pieces inspired by chain-mail armour of old and skilfully-crafted mesh jewellery from Indonesia. You can view the collection here.

The code HRH10 is applicable to the collection of notecards. Below, the A Girl for All Seasons Notecards. "A set of eight embossed notecards and envelopes featuring Bovary & Co.'s 'A Girl for all Seasons' design, with each cameo character representing a season; spring, summer, autumn and winter. The cards are printed and then embossed on highly-textured 280gsm paper, making for an intensely luxurious feel. The technique of embossing allows the cameos to stand out."

And last but not least, a peek at the Mens Collection.

Emily Andrews reports Kate, George and Charlotte are spending the weekend in Bucklebury. She hasn't ruled out the possibility of church attendance with the Queen, but with Kate on maternity leave it would seem likely they'll stay with the Middletons.

Wishing you all a very Happy Easter!
