As you know, William and Kate attended the wedding of William Van Cutsem and Rosie Ruck-Keene in Oxfordshire over the weekend. Many of you have asked about the publication of professional photos; as of publishing this post photos have not been made available online yet, although I'm sure they will be in the coming days. Photos were published in yesterday's Daily Express, a look inside the paper can be viewed here.

Daily Express

According to fellow guests at the reception, it was an immensely enjoyable wedding with Prince William showing off his dance moves....

The following day the Duke and Duchess popped into The Mole and Chicken for a spot of lunch. The picturesque country pub and restaurant with five beautiful letting rooms set high on the border offers outstanding views across Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire.

The Mole and Chicken

William enjoyed a Mushroom Risotto and Kate had fish and chips. Both dishes are available on the restaurant's A la Carte Menu for £13 and £12.50 respectively.

The Mole and Chicken

The royal visit was much to the surprise and delight of staff.

The Mole and Chicken

The Mole and Chicken is something of a hidden treasure known for its excellent service, delightful country atmosphere and great menu with one customer tweeting: "Great atmosphere and menu. Anyone who hasn't been, must get themselves to you. Highly recommend." Actor Richard E. Grant also popped in for a bite to eat last week. If you're in the area you can make a reservation via the website.

Next, four interesting stories I'd like to share with you. The Mirror's Victoria Murphy reports William, Kate and Harry have donated £100,000 to help wounded soldiers trek through the South Pole. Prince Harry who is currently touring the US will join the injured soldiers as they trek in temperatures of -45C.

Chief Executive of the trio's Royal Foundation Nick Booth said:

'The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry are all dedicated to helping our wounded undertake truly great adventures and sporting achievements as part of their recovery.
The Walking With The Wounded South Pole Allied Challenge is a perfect demonstration of the tenacity and resolution of the inspirational men and women who serve both our nation and our allies.'

William and Kate's wedding website has been deactivated more than two years after the couple tied the knot at Westminster Abbey. The enormously popular website has been viewed by more than thirteen million people worldwide and received 15 million hits on the day of the wedding. The website also served as the vehicle for The Royal Wedding Charitable Gift Funds which raised a staggering £1 million. The proceeds were split between 26 charitable organisations chosen by the Duke and Duchess.

Kate enjoyed an Indian dish on the weekend of her second wedding anniversary in Berkshire, according to Hello! Magazine. The Duchess ordered a homemade vegetable dish by Indian couple Chan Shingadia and her husband Hash who own the local Spar shop in Bucklebury.

Hash Shingadia said:

'She likes my wife's cooking. We cook for her mum and family. My wife made her a curry a little while ago which she enjoyed. I think she came in one day and my wife was cooking upstairs.
She said it smelled lovely, so my wife gave her some to take away. We've really got to know Kate. She is really caring. She is like a human being, not a celebrity, and she is always a good customer. William is down to earth.'

Perhaps the story which has made the most headlines is that sources close to Kate have revealed the baby's due date is July 13th. The Duchess recently revealed she is due in mid-July and I think this is where the story stemmed from. It is highly unlikely any of Kate's friends would reveal such information to the press.

Now that we're all caught up with the latest news, let's finish with a fashion tidbit! I know many of us particularly yours truly are huge fans of one of Kate's favourite British brands, Joseph. My Wardrobe is offering 30% off two of the label's dresses which would look magnificent on the Duchess post pregnancy.

The Maria Dress is very much a Kate piece featuring qualities we know the Duchess favours in garments. The interlocking wool dress has a round neck, capped sleeves and ruching to the sides of the waist. It is currently reduced from €325 to €227 and is available in RedTeal and Black.

My Wardrobe

The Joseph Black Perry is another striking piece. The sleeveless dress is a stylish LBD featuring a cowl neck, gathered design from one shoulder, hook and eye fastening to opposite shoulder and draped design to skirt. It is reduced from €362 to €253.

One can also find a selection of Joseph pieces significantly reduced at The Outnet.

I hope you're all having a lovely week! :)

  1. Great post once again Charlotte! Thank you for the pics from the daily express. I guess Kate should have worn a longer dress in retrospect since the wind almost blew it up revealing her underwear. However she looks cute and the baby bump ever growing and she glowing.
It's too bad they only showed a small photo of the bride but she looked lovely.

  2. Congrats to the winners. Thank you Charlotte for the post and for the opportunity. Anett

  3. Jean from Lancs.14 May 2013 at 16:13

Congratulations to the winners of the bikinis etc. Hope you find plenty of sun!
Glad to see their Royal Foundation is providing money for the trek to the South Pole. I think they are all very brave to try it.
Baby Cambridge certainly seems to have put on a spurt of growth since we saw the Duchess two weeks ago.
I find it difficult to believe that they have told anyone, except perhaps their closest family, an expected date--no one has asked the baby, who doubtless will arrive when he/she is ready.
I can understand the excitement of the pubs when the couple arrive unannounced for lunch, but do they really need to say what they ate? Imagine what the diet police will have to say about Catherine's choice.
Catherine looks beautiful and glowing and I hope we see some more engagements soon, but fully understand if it is decided that she should take time off until the birth.

Good for Kate eating fish and chips! I said in my post, but SO looking forward to some yummy pub fish and chips in a few weeks! Already started a list of the must haves...fish and chips, scones and clotted cream, shepherd's pie, sticky toffee pudding....YUM!!!

Have to agree that little Baby Cambridge has had a growth spurt. So, so sweet!

  4. Pauline Oak HIlls14 May 2013 at 16:41

Wow Ms. Charlotte another great post. I read today in the Telegraph that the Duchess & her Prince really had a great time dancing the day & night away at the wedding on Saturday. How fun for them to still be able to enjoy themselves. I can just picture those two out on the dance floor, big tummy and all...lol

I was wondering when you get ready to do another Kat Loves post if you can do one Kate Loves William. Since they are going to be parents and their are so many gret photos of them either holding hands, giving each other that look of love or just being near each other. I think tht would be a great one. YOU did one long time ago but it was lost when you shut down your blog for that while.

Well thank you again for a grea blog and keeping us all up to date on our beautiful Duchess and mommy to be.

    1. Melanie from California15 May 2013 at 02:21

      Yes, I second Pauline's suggestion. Please do a "Kate Loves...William" post :)

    2. Kate, Texas, USA15 May 2013 at 05:18

LOVE the idea of "Kate Loves William" post!!! :)

    3. Z. from Portugal15 May 2013 at 10:54

Oh yeah, "Kate Loves William", that is a great idea. :) I'll wait for that post.

  5. Ana B. from Brazil14 May 2013 at 17:21

Congrats to the winners of Vix Beachwear Giveaway! I hope you can make good use of your prizes :)
Honestly, who haven't had a Marilyn Monroe episode in your life? I surely had! I went to college in a beach city, and the weather was always really hot. Well, one day, I was wearing a flowy skirt, the hemline just below my knees, and my hands were occupied with books and my bag. The wind blowed so fast my skirt went up and I dropped everything to the floor just to keep "things covered". I was so embarassed. By telling you this story, I intend to say I don't think a short hemline makes such a difference in a situation of windy weather. Every skirt will go up in that situation.
About the hat, I'm almost certain Pippa wore a very similar hat, purple-ish, a while ago.
I've never eaten Indian food! But I'm certainly curious right now! I'm always about Brazilian and Italian food (my gradma is Italian), so I guess I'll try some new experiences :)
    Well, I guess that's it!
Thank you again, Charlotte, for such a grear work!
    Bets wishes of great week!

    1. Sarah from Calif.15 May 2013 at 00:38

Ana you must try dishes from India with curray they are so good. :)

As for the dress blowing in the wind , I'm thinking Kate might want to take a hint from the Queen and put tiny weights in the hem.
Dancing the night away !!! Sounds like they had a wonderful time :)
Congratulations to the winners ! Hope you have a lovely summer to wear your new outfits in :)
PS Harry , well done !

    2. Z. from Portugal15 May 2013 at 10:52

The Queen puts tiny weights in the hem? I knew she would have a smart solution to that problem! She's always perfect :)

I hope you're enjoying great weather in California, Sarah. Here in Portugal we're having a "strange" Spring: some days it's too hot and suddenly it changes to chilly and rainy weather...

    3. I am quite sure she's been weighting her dress hems for some time. She and her assistant certainly wouldn't be ignoring the issue, and if they were, other royal women would have raised it. However, weights will not work with a very light fabric when a stiff breeze blows up. Only very heavy weights might work, and they would drag down the hem at points.

The only alternative is to avoid such fabrics.

  6. I've heard she has bought a carpet this day? Are there any photos? :)

  7. Congratulations to the winners! Wonderful that William, Kate and Harry are supporting the wounded soldiers' adventure. Do think Kate should watch her skirts. It was sweet when it happened in Calgary the first time but this is at least the third incident. Nice that she and William enjoyed the party and a pub lunch too.

  8. Congratulations to the winners!!kate eating Indian food made me smile since I'm Indian. Good for Kate to satisfy her food cravings with international cuisines :)
I loved the designer sketches pictures posted, Charlotte maybe you could add them to this post or the next one and have us vote our favorite :) I liked the Nina Ricci dress, If she does indeed wear that I hope it's for the christening of the ship engagement in June. Thanks chica for this update and I'm looking forward to the next post!xoxo

  9. What does "madeup" and all having kittens mean in those tweets? I'm not familiar with those phrases.

    1. Melanie from California15 May 2013 at 02:24

"Having kittens" means anxious and busy. In my family, we use the phrase, "as nervous as a cat having kittens" to describe ourselves or others in certain situations. I think "made up" in this case, means "on point" and working as a team.

    2. "Madeup" means being thrilled or delighted. I think it tends to be used more in northern parts of England. Annie, UK

  10. I'm American, so I am no expert on British slang. I do know that "having kittens" means feeling extreme stress or panic. I have no idea what "madeup" means. Perhaps it's a typo. I can only imagine the excitement felt by the restaurant staff. Apparently William and Kate don't have anyone call ahead. They just drop by unannounced. Love that!

  11. Im following prince harry trip in the us how love how he help the sandy hook

  12. Kate, Texas, USA15 May 2013 at 05:17

Congrats to the winners! Enjoy! Loved reading the quick article on Will and Kate dancing the night away! The food at The Mole and Chicken sounds delicious! I am looking forward to some yummy fish and chips in a few weeks. I think it's great they just pop in for lunch. What a fun surprise to the staff! I thought it was a hoot that a worker tweeted they were having kittens! I hope they had a great time and have enjoyed time together the past couple weeks. Looking forward to any upcoming engagements after this "quiet time". :)

Interesting that the Telegraph published an article titled "Time for the Duchess of Cambridge to Dress for the Royal Baby in waiting". Thought it was a good read after all the comments from the last post.

Thanks for the post Charlotte! I know William and Harry have an engagement on the 20th. Do you think there will be anything coming up for Kate or will it be the service on June 4 for the next big appearance?Harry looked to have a great time on the Jersey shore today. He is such a cutie and as I posted before, a GREAT ambassador for the UK! WTG Harry! Hope everyone is having a great week!

  13. Z. from Portugal15 May 2013 at 10:46

So Kate (and all the family) likes Indian food, ha? I was surprised, but I also like Indian food, although it is very spicy :)

I must say that lately I'm dealing with some stressfull days in my work, lots of things to do. And it's funny because this lovely blog always helps me to calm down. It doesn't just keep you informed about Kate, but reading it, and also reading the comments, has indeed become a quite funny and relaxing daily experience. Thank you so much :)

    1. Sarah from Calif.16 May 2013 at 00:52

      Z. from Portugal, Hi we might have little down time now and I love that we can chat with the ladies. I so agree this is a great destresser. It is so fun chatting with people all over the world. Okay I admit I'm a foodie so what do people in Portugal eat? I'm thinking fresh fish and veggies plus all the other good things. For myself I will say a lot of Mexican dishes and all of the above.
I know I'm blabbing on but I think Kate is a foodie too so I'm not to off topic.

    2. Z. from Portugal16 May 2013 at 10:18

yes, you are right, Portuguese food includes lots of fresh fish, fruit, vegetables, but also meat with excellent quality. It has an incredible variety of dishes. It is also based on the mediterranean diet, so it's quite healthy and very, very tasty. You should try it, it won't let you down! :)

  14. new photos have been posted at the DM. Sorry Charlotte if I am reposting something you already posted but I did not find it on your site.
