Kate Enjoys Walks In Swiss Mountains + Topshop Purchase

Kate was photographed enjoying a walk in the Swiss mountains on Sunday afternoon following a post-celebratory brunch with friends.

Metro

The Duchess was accompanied by three protection officers, and a tourist from Germany who was walking with his wife said: "She was walking down the hill with three men. She was very sweet and smiled at people who looked at her. She seemed to be taking in the scenery." Not far from where Kate was walking William, Harry and friends were seen skiing.

William, Kate and Harry attended the wedding of Mark Tomlinson and Laura Bechtolsheimer yesterday and stayed in the bride's grandfather's hotel, the five star Tschuggen Grand Hotel.

More from the Daily Mail Story:

'A suite at the luxurious hotel costs up to £2,450 a night and includes the use of a private ski lift. Guests found skis and poles in their rooms - while a traditional wooden toboggan was provided for the pregnant Duchess. While Prince William and Harry went skiing on Friday, Kate picked the relatively safer option of sledging with a friend and her baby. Locals said she laughed out loud as she sped down a one-kilometre-long winding slope.'

Daily Kate Middleton over at What Kate Wore FB quickly identified Kate's white printed top with a bow on the shoulder as a Zara piece. Unfortunately, it is sold out now. It's a pretty piece which works well for the Duchess at this stage of her pregnancy.

Kate was spotted by a fellow shopper at Tesco wearing the top last year.

Kate avoided snow glare with her Givenchy Sunglasses. They are currently reduced from £186 to £131.95 at Smart Buy Glasses.

The wonderful ladies over at What Kate Wore identified Kate's boots as the OSCAR Giada Ecol Fur Apres Boots. They are Italian made and available for £145.

Kate also wore black jeans. She accessorised with earrings and a watch, we very rarely see Kate wearing a watch and it's a piece I've not seen before. Perhaps she treated herself to a watch in Switzerland (it being world famous for it's watches and clocks).

The Duchess appeared to be carrying her Temperley Odele Sheepskin Coat.

Kate's walk made the cover of tomorrow's Metro.

A lovely reader who is in Arosa, Switzerland and had the opportunity to meet William, Kate and Harry very kindly shared his thoughts on the Duchess. It's very insightful and for those of you who didn't see it in the comments I think you will enjoy it!

'I also think it is brilliant to introduce the hotel where the 4 days of wedding celebration took place. Its such a nice hotel worth looking at, especially the huge 5000sqm Spa where Kate enjoyed some relaxing "pre birth wellness" treatments and got her hair done.
I was in Arosa and honestly I only had eyes for her gorgeous shoes, I didn't spend one look at her belly, as like I said above these royal things are not in my normal interest. Getting to know her, her husband and his brother personally was a great honor. The press is right when telling that they respected the wedding celebration and acted very normal like everyone else of the 250 wedding guests. I can tell you that the coat was more like a cream-brownish color (the photos are looking a bit different from the real color) and that the buttons were "fake" ones. The coat was some kind of wool as it felt very soft. She was much taller than I thought she'd be, with the shoes she is about 1.90m...! Kate has a kind of gorgeous presence when she steps into the room, very classy, relaxed and totally friendly without any "royal" distance in her behavior. I was speechless.
And about William having some pounds more...after the long wedding celebration from Thursday onwards until today, I am sure all of the guests will have some more an their ribs =) But he was not chubby at all, again the photos look different from the reality.'

As many of you know, Kate was spotted in Topshop last week. US Weekly reports the Duchess purchased a sweet flowered frock by U.K. based concession brand Lovestruck. She purchased the £37 Deirdre Dress a delicate spring dress with a forties feel. The dress is not available on the Topshop website at present but is available at Lovestruck.

Actor and comedian Cheech Marin wrote a wonderful piece about the night Kate asked him to dance at St. Andrews. Well worth a read, and I must say I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I expect Kate will flying back to London tomorrow for Tuesday's visit to Grimsby. I'll see you then (unless there's another unexpected sighting :)).

  2. At first glance, this looks like it could be Pippa!! Kate looks just like her sister in profile! Nice, normal look for a walk in the mountains. She wore watches before her marriage, the watch could be one of those pieces. Nice to see some casual photos of her like this.

Thanks for this great post. I feel sorry for the Duchess. She looks lonely. Her she is walking in the mountains alone while William is out skiing. There is nothing wrong with that but I still feel sorry for her.

She look's very healthy and the pregnancy is sure agreeing with her.
    Can't wait until Tuesday.

  5. People were saying things about William putting on weight? So silly! It's like when people say Kate's put on some weight...you make it sound like a bad thing! For one I didn't notice William's weight changing but I don't think it's anyone business if someone's gained or lose weight. Think if you saw people posting about yourself on faceback 'o, did you see so-in-so, doesn't she look a little fuller?'. Whether they say it as a 'hey they look better' or what not wouldn't it make you feel subconscious and not so good about yourself?

  7. After seeing this picture, I am convinced our gal is impervious to cold! It explains how she managed to look comfortable in relatively few layers of clothing during inclement weather (the Jubilee river pageant, lace Temperly gown for "War Horse" premiere, Max Mara wrap dress last month...)

    1. I was thinking that I hope she put on her sun block. The worst sunburn I ever got was spring skiing when I took of my sweater and just had a tank top on while taking a break. A nice day can be quite warm in the mountains. Although I haven't been skiing in the Alps.

Charlotte you are the BEST!!! I don't know what you are studying, but you would make a FABULOUS journalist! The update is lovely!

I love the casual pictures of Kate. She looks happy and relaxed to me. Also love the Zara blouse and Oscar boots! A look I could see myself wearing, but the boots are a bit pricey for me since I don't experience much cold weather. Anyway, Kate looks great! :)

I LOVED what the reader posted about Kate. Just confirms how and what I have always thought she would be like in person. I loved how she described her as having a gorgeous presence. :) Also, about being speechless..... When I saw William, Kate, and Harry ride by in the carriage procession at the Jubilee celebration, Kate looked so beautiful. For those couple seconds I had to pinch myself. She really is so gorgeous! She just seems every inch the perfect princess. I think William loves her for her inner beauty and her outer beauty is an added bonus. :) Thanks for sharing and adding that to the post Charlotte!

Charlotte, any ID on the watch? I am curious to know. :) Also, many prayers for the Queen. Praying for good health and a speedy recovery.

Kate looks great, yes she has that healthy mommy glow. I must say I liked the coat in pink.!!!!!
even though it wasn't pink but cream. It funny looking at the picture of William and Kate, I keep wanting to say be careful don't slip on the ice. I guess it's a mom thing.
Those black boots look warm and comfy.
A speedy recovery to Her Majesty. :)

  11. You know, watches kind of disappeared as a fashion basic as all this high tech stuff revolutionized our life over the past 10-15 years. Frankly, I don't know why since having a phone w/the time was never practical or handy for me. I've always loved having a watch–nothing is easier than that (never having to reach into your pocket, your bag, etc).

I am SO GLAD HRH is wearing a watch! Yay!!! Smart lady, I always knew that. ;)

It's time (no pun intended!) to get watches BACK on our wrists.

Oh, man, staying at that hotel/location seems like a total fantasy to me. How I wish!

Anyhow, again, I LOVE the HRH's long hair. Hope she grows it out even longer!!

All best for a great week everyone! Thanks Charlotte! Silvia

Thank you for your great posts. I love seeing the Duchess in her casual dress. Well, she looks so classy both in formal engagements and in her days-off. Like her blouse and also her wedding look on 3rd of March. She's gorgeous.

    Can't wait for tomorrow.

And wish that Her Majesty will soon recover.

What a lucky person, the reader who wrote such a cool comment! I hope (and I'm sure) you had a great time in Arosa.
I'm surprised to read so many comments all over the internet saying the Duchess is lonely, that she doesn't have any friends... OMG, people do have some pathological need to find something to bully her! I'm sure she has friends... Look at her birthday night out. Just because she chose to take a walk by herself don't mean she is by herself for life. Some people really like to enjoy their own company!
On another note, I hope Her Majesty is feeling better!
Well, I'm so excited for tomorrow!
Best wishes of a great week to all of us!

@Ana B.- Hello my friend- When I said the Ducehss looked lonely I did not mean she had no friends. She to me just looked like she was lonely on her walk. But as one reader said above there is a difference of being lonely & being alone. She said she thought she was alone which she was.

Hope all is well for you in Brazil.

      Hi, Pauline!
I wrote a huge reply to you, but I guess something went wrong, since it was not published :/
Being quick, I just wanted to let you know, my friend, that I wasn't talking about you or your comment. I read your reply before I read your comment, so I'm sorry for this missunderstanding. You are always very kind about the Duchess and I was referring to bullies around the internet, especially on Tumblr and DM.
Please, do not feel like I was attacking or criticizing you especifically, because I wasn't!
I hope you're doing great in California! Everything is fine over here, thank you!
I'm sorry if my English is not good, but I have been really busy and right now I'm writing as fast as can!!!
      Hugs :)

Hi Ana- Oh no I did not think for one minute that you were attacking me or criticizing me. Ya I don't like reading DM or other web sites that are always putting the Duchess down. They have no clue what goes on in this poor woman's life, which realy is not her own anymore.

And your English is very good.

  18. I think that Kate is now very likely following the usual doctor's advice to take a daily walk for exercise during pregnancy.

Also, while the sun's reflection off of snow is often quite warm, it is not unusual to feel warmer than usual due to pregnancy hormones. Probably why she took her jacket off.

Wow I am so excited. Today I went and picked up my mail and there was 4 envolopes from Buckingham Palace. In December I sent the Duchess & her Prince a Christmas card. Then when they announced that they were going to have a baby I sent the a congraulation card and then in January I sent the Duchess a birthday card. So today I received 4 (two are doubles) beautiful cards from the royal couple.
So it does pay to send them cards, you always get a response from them. It may take a few months but you always get something back. This just made a bad day a good day.

I jsut wanted to share this with all my friends here on this great blog Ms. Charlotte has set up for all of us fans. Thank you Charlotte for giving us such a great way to share our thoughts on this beautiful couple.

Yea Pauline!!! We are regular writers to William and Catherine! You are right...you always receive a nice reply. Same for the Queen also. I wrote several times throughout my childhood years. Unfortunately my parents house flooded a few years back and I was SO upset when letters were so drenched and ruined. :( **Sigh**

We sent Catherine a small congratulations baby gift and just received our lovely letter last week in the mail. My daughter asked with excitement if they would put it in the new baby's room. I had to tell her yes...didn't have the heart to tell her more than likely not. :)

  22. Kate looks lovely as always. I don´t think she was lonely, William seems to be always around her, but he was skiing with his brother and some friends. Kate being so sick in the begining of her pregnancy must have put a lot of stress on him, poor guy he was just having some fun but certainly being loving to her as he akways seems to be. They are so wonderful together..... a beautiful love story of the XXI century, I hope they keep that and they are happy throughout their lives.
