Fashionably Kate: Repli-Kate's, L.K. Bennett's Latest Pieces & Sale + More

I have received a number of messages requesting more 'Fashionably Kate' posts (and 'Kate Loves' posts which we'll be continuing with in the coming days) from fans of Duchess Kate's style. We begin with a look at a selection of 'Repli-Kate' pieces, please feel free to let me know which of Kate's looks you'd like to see 'Repli-Kated' in future posts by leaving a comment below, via Twitter or Facebook.

A reader named Lydia got in touch earlier this week requesting a Repli-Kate for the lilac Grecian-style Alexander McQueen gown Kate wore to a BAFTA celebration in July 2011.

The Coast Lori Lee Maxi Dress is a lovely alternative featuring a scoop neckline, softly gathered maxi skirt, button back closure, full slip lining and embellishment on the waist similar to Kate's. It is available at Asos for $342 and House of Fraser for £195. It also comes comes in navy.

Coast

WKW FB friend Laura shared a nice alternative to Kate's portrait blouse from Mango. The Bow Crepe Blouse is available for £24.99 and comes in navy neutral and red.

Mango

Speaking of Mango, their Woven Wool Coat is quite similar to Kate's blue M Missoni fringe coat. It's currently reduced from £100 to £50.

Next we take a look at  L.K. Bennett's latest collection. As always there's a multitude of pieces I can envisage the Duchess wearing such as the CatrinaCharris and Lydia.

L.K. Bennett

The Halina Tweed Jacket and Dress look wonderful together and are very similar to pieces already in Kate's wardrobe.

With the dismal weather so many of us are experiencing at the moment it's nice to think of spring and prints will be everywhere in the coming season. The ArielSilver Satin Cap Sleeve Dress and Sarah are very much on trend and quite loose fitting. The Duchess may opt to wear similar dresses during the earlier stages of her pregnancy.

L.K. Bennett

Jack Reacher actress Rosamund Pike is the face of L.K. Bennett's Spring/Summer 2013 Campaign. You can read an interview with the actress about the brand here. Rosamund is one of my favourite actresses because she embodies old Hollywood glamour and her style is incredibly elegant. I thought she was the perfect choice for L.K. Bennett. Below we see her modelling the Bay Silk Cardigan.

The  L.K. Bennett sale includes pieces with up to 70% off, one receives an additional 10% off by entering the discount code 10extra. The sale ends Sunday 27 January.

Kate items on sale include the Sledge pumps (reduced from £195 to £110 in a variety of colours but not taupe), the Jetta Peplum Jacket in black (reduced from £225 to £95) and the Davina dress (reduced from £225 to £145).

I was looking at the Temperley Pre-Fall 2013 Lookbook and saw a number of designs which could be modified for Kate as maternity wear. I predict we'll see the Duchess opting for quite a few bespoke pieces in the coming months.

Temperley

We conclude tonight's fashion filled post with a quick look at Erdem's Pre-Fall Collection.

Charlotte - you have spiced up my Friday PM commute - as usual!!! Absolutely luv the Temperley black lace yoke and sleeve dress - Kate would look fabulous in it! Of course, her hair will be up, right?! Ann-Margaret had a similar look decades ago and I thot it was the epitome of class. This dress can be made in street length for other events as well...Have a great weekend!!!

I absolutely love the McQueen Grecian-style gown! I love the lilac color...so feminine and fresh! I remember watching the news footage of the BAFTA dinner and being in awe. To think of a village girl from Berkshire who married her prince and that was now walking the red carpet in Hollywood. She really did look stunning and so happy! Wish I had a nice event in the upcoming future so I could try the Coast Lori Lee Maxi Dress. Looks so pretty!

Hoping for a Kate sighting soon! Thank you for always having something wonderful to read even in the "quiet times". Have a wonderful weekend!

AAAAHHHH, the lilac McQueen gown has to be my favourite dress of ALL time! I hope we will get to see Kate wearing a similar gown minus the belt as it would be a beautiful choice plus room for the bump!

  6. Charlotte, I must pass on to you that your information on the “Heavenly Necklaces” site with the Duchesses styled pair of “Pearl and Diamond Earrings” scored major points for this husband. I have watched for those hidden gems from around the world and your blog is working wonders. I ordered the earrings and they arrived to East Tennessee, USA, in perfect condition and under the time quoted for purchases from UK to USA (actually arrived before credit card bill so she never suspected). Big hit! With Valentine’s Day and Birthday, I see several more purchases coming from the UK. This is a global economy and surprises work. Your site is Number One on favorites list. 1. Delighted to hear you got your wife the Pearl and Diamond Earrings, they are beautiful. I have no doubt she will love them. Belina from Heavenly Necklaces is a lovely woman, the Countess of Wessex also wears her pieces regularly.

    Hello!
Those options are great! Thank you for this post, Charlotte! You always make me smile!
May I say I'm missing engagements sooooooo much?
But, let's hope the Duchess is feeling better... I have heard she was out and about in London today... At least we don't have photos, which I guess, is because people are respecting her privacy.
Best wishes for a great weekend!
    Hugs :)

Charlotte, the Temperley Collection is very classy Kate would look great in all of those. . I'm sorry but I do have to laugh at the Erdem dress with the green pockets, it is so 1960s . I don't like it at all but some people will pay 500 dollars for it, funny how fashion is.
Hope you have a relaxing weekend:)
    As always thank you!

  10. The royal baby is due in July so the last trimester will be presumably May-June-July or, depending on when the baby was conceived, April-May-June with a delivery date of early July. First, I'd imagine, given the announcement that's already been made that she'll take time off after the baby gets here and the fact that she's already stopped formal public engagements, that we won't see much of Kate or William after about April of 2013 through the first part of 2014. Many of the less formal dresses she already owns, including a couple I can think of from the Pacific tour, would go nicely for the few events she may decide to do in the early spring/early summer. With their apartments at KP being refurbbed at taxpayer expense, with the UK, along with the US and rest of the EU, mired in economic hard times and with Prince Charles cutting back on the royal payroll and benefits to other immediate members of the Windsor clan, I would guess that treading lightly as far as the clothing budget right now may be in order for internal politics and external appearances. I can't envision an entire new maternity wardrobe of bespoke pieces when she's not making any public appearances. We may compare Kate's role as a style trendsetter to her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana but there are differences. Princess Diana lived and worked as the wife of the heir to the throne in the high-living, economically-prosperous 1980s and 1990s. Times have definitely changed. Kate is the wife of the heir to the heir to the throne. This is not a criticism of Kate (or else it wouldn't get posted!), just a few observations.

  11. Hello. Does anyone know what dress the woman next to Kate is wearing? I mean the photo with Kate wearing the lilac dress. The top looks interesting.

  12. Too bad Kate doesn't seem to have a good adviser. It would look netter if her shopping was more discreet or if she used a private dressmaker.
