Exciting news regarding the upcoming royal tour. William, Kate and Harry's Principal Private Secretary and Equerry Jamie Lowther-Pinkerton has released a statement which includes a detailed itinerary for the South-East Asia tour. It's is a very interesting read. On the sidebar you will see 'Kate's Upcoming Dates' which has been updated to include the couple's engagements during the tour. It certainly looks like it's going to be a wonderful tour. Are you looking forward to it? :)
The statement finishes with information on the tour party and flights. The couple will travel on all scheduled flights except between Kuala Lumpur and Kota Kinabulu and between Sabah, Solomon Islands and Tuvalu and will return home to London via a brief change of aircraft in Brisbane.
'The tour part is consistent with Their Royal Highnesses' last tour to Canada, and the only difference is the addition of an orderly, who will manage tour logistics and other practicalities. The tour party consists of me (Jamie Lowther-Pinkerton) and the Assistant Private Secretary Rebecca Deacon, two press officers at one time, including Miguel Head, a personal assistant, the orderly I just mentioned and - paid for privately - a hairdresser. Sir David Manning will also accompany Their Royal Highnesses'.
The hairdresser who will accompany Kate is Amanda Cook Tucker. The 50-year-old is no stranger to royal circles and has previously cut William and Harry's hair. Kate is a loyal customer at the Richard Ward salon but has been using Mrs. Cook to style her hair at home. With the hot and humid weather having a hairdresser close by will be an invaluable asset for the Duchess.

'He was happy to reserve the suit, but then produced a pen and asked for her name. Perhaps she was trying to play down her destiny as future Queen, but she replied "Mrs Cambridge". He commented it was quite an unusual name. She just smiled and said she'd be back. He hasn't lived it down since'.

Kate is expected to watch the Athletics tonight. See you all then :)

Knowing it was going to rain, why on earth didn't she put her hair up? She looked ridiculous with her hair all over the place, frizzy and unkempt. She looks nice and glamorous with her hair up, so I just don't understand why she's so stubborn.
ReplyDeleteSTUBBORNNESS!!!
DeleteSeriously!
I can't understand why she doesn't pull her hair back. She has such a pretty face and knowing the weather forecast, ugh... (rolling my eyes)
her hair is not all over the place. Its her preferred style and I think she looks good. And she isn't stubborn - that's refusing to do something you want her to do - have you told her personnally shat you want her to do? Do you know that well?
Deleteto the 3rd Anon, the comments are Kate's hair fall under the category of constructive criticism. So you can calm down. Stubborn was a nice way of putting it. I think she's oblivious and clueless. I know Diana had a curiosity about what the press and people said about her, and Kate needs to, if she's not, come to sites like his and see what she looks like in pictures and what the rest of the world thinks about her look. She has PLENTY of room to improve.
DeleteI wish Kate would tie her hair in those cute little buns when she goes shopping. It looks really cute on her..
DeleteMore than the hair it is the shoes that offend me. They don't go with this outfit and are too too high to be respectable. I doubt that she is actually reading or acting on feedback. She strikes me as the type who is so "confident" that she wouldn't really care what is said about her. And she doesn't care whether there is room to improve or not - she simply does her own thing.
DeleteThat said, I would like to draw attention to her forehead. Anyone else notice that it hasn't moved in the last two months ? Botox. Take a close look at pictures where she is squinting - that is a giveaway. Nothing wrong with it.. except.. how sad ! 30 year old and botox already ?
I have to admit, I did wonder about botox :(
DeleteI have to admit, I did wonder about botox :(
DeleteRe comments about Botox:
DeleteTo anonymous - you don't know she has used it and therefore stating it as a fact would be wrong. I am in my late 40's and I do not have any lines on my forehead - not one. Have to say I hoipe that it lasts like that for a bit longer but I have never used Botox, just moisturiser and a regular regime like that helps.
And I also suggest looking at a wider range of pix, cos I dont agree with the statement "hasn't moved in the last 2 months".
Also (and this includes "louisedraws" - why assume the worst? Why not just think lucky girl? Be nice.
I don't know why Kate should be bothered about what people say about her. If she feels right about herself, there is no need to care about what other people say. I do hope she doesn't read the news because the only person who knows for sure what suits her best is herself. If she wears those wedges, those LK Bennett's and her hair loose too often, it's because she feels comfortable about them. And that is what really matters.
DeleteIf she wants to botox then it's her call, it certainly doesn't bother me! She's so pretty she would look great whether she used it or not :)
DeleteThere are too many women who love being nasty and critical.
DeleteHaha, that story about the shopkeeper is fantastic!! Love it :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the quick updates, Charlotte!

Sarah, isn't that funny. Who in the world would not know the beautiful Duchess??? And I have to laugh at the people who think the Duchess was trying to get the wetsuit for free since she left her money & credit cards at home. People don't know that the Duchess does not take anything for free.
DeleteI definitely don't think she was trying to get it for free, that assumption is just ridiculous. I do think, however, that forgetting a credit card/wallet/billfold is quite clumsy though :P
DeleteI can't imagine she was trying to get it for free. First of all, she's not poor, she has no reason to need freebies and I'll bet she's not stupid enough to not realize that the media would make a huge deal out of it**. On top of that, the storyline wouldn't even make sense... she asked the shopkeeper to hold it for her, not to take it home and come back to pay for it later.
Delete** There was a Daily Mail article awhile back about how some company sent Kate a gift of a ski cap or something as an engagement gift, and Carole decided to keep it for herself while writing the company a letter that said "we don't usually accept gifts, BUT..." which I thought was pretty tacky. Of course, she probably didn't assume the company owner would run blabbing to the media.
But back to Kate, I can relate... I once somehow got to the train station and realized that I had no money or train pass or cell phone on me. What I was thinking that morning, I have no idea! Happens to us all :)

Thanks for all the detailed info you give us. The Duchess presented the medals for the men's discus this evening.
ReplyDeleteThank you, It's added to the top of the post :)
DeleteI was glad to see that the beautiful Duchess got to present the gold metal. I bet Aled Davies will never forget that moment. How special was it for him.
ReplyDeleteI am trying to figure out if the Duchess changed her clothes for just added the blazer. Can't really tell. The Duchess looked stunning again today even though it rained. And it was really nice to see her with Sophie again. They really looked like the were having a great time.
Also read where that the Duchess & her Prince will be attending a wedding on October 20th. It is for another royal family. Charlotte can you see if there is anything else out there regarding this. It will be nice to see them at another royal wedding. I don't think they have ever attended one as a married couple.
Thanks again for the great up date.
They attended Zara Phillips and mike tindalls wedding last year they were married then :) but I agree with you it would be nice to see them at another royal wedding :)
DeleteGrace
If I had to make a guess- if they really are attending a royal wedding on Ocotber 20th of this year it will be that of The Hereditary Grand Duke of Luxembourg and Countess Stéphanie de Lannoy. And that will be a tiara moment as well. If they are attending that is.
DeleteIF they are indeed attending a royal wedding on October 20th of this year I would bet my money on them attending the wedding of The Hereditary Grand Duke of Luxembourg and Countess Stéphanie de Lannoy. That is if that is the one they are attending. The best part of that would be if they are going- we would have another tiara sighting!
DeleteYes that is the wedding they stated in the information I read. Sorry I forgot to put which wedding they were going to attend.
DeleteKate is as lovely as ever. I really love her long and beautiful hair. And her smile is a special gift to everyone.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful and charming asset for the British crown!
Thanks Charlotte!! Kate looks gorgeous in the blue blazer!! Im assuming she's wearing her blue jeans with wedges. I wish we had a full picture of her in her suit.I wish Kate would've tied her hair back for the morning event(where it rained), she would've looked neater. Waiting for your next post :)
ReplyDeleteSiddhii- There is a picture showing the Duchess in her skirt & blazer. It is just a few pictures above. She looks stunning.
Delete*How cool that Kate was the one to hand out the medals :) (LIKE!)
ReplyDelete*Loved her blazer too, and the scarf... I'm warming up to the red tennis shoes (which I really disliked the first time I saw them).
*Impressive photo of the rowing centre at Dorney Lake. Really like that you added taht :) specially for those of us unable to watch the paraolympics :( #Fail
*Beautiful Duchess, it truly was a bad hair day for you :( I say fire that hairdresser/adviser :P Seriously, BAD HAIR day. If you simply decided to wear it down (out of your freewill... ugh! bad choice :P sorry) I hope she sees the pictures of the events, to see/learn what suits her best :)
Perhaps she leaves her hair loose to please her husband--much more important than pleasing us.
DeleteI like Mrs. Tucker's hat!
ReplyDeleteHello!
ReplyDeleteI don't know, but I did not see a problem about Catherine's hair today! It looked as polished as ever! Maybe it's because I really like to wear my hair down too.
I have heard a story that a man who won a silver medal refused to shake the Duchess' hand because his religion did not allow him to touch anyone who is not a muslim. Have you heard this story too?
A nice week to you all.
According to tumblr, the Muslim religion doesn't allow a man to touch a woman that is not his wife. Not sure if that's true but hoped I helped
DeleteThank you, Jackie. I bet it was an awkward moment!
DeleteJackie - you are correct BUT not every man practices that! I married into a lovely Muslim family (I did not have to covert) and I get hugs from the guys. But when I met an Imam, he wouldn't shake my hand because I wasn't his wife (not because I wasn't Muslim.) I respected that... it depends on the person too :)
DeleteAbout Kate's hair... it looked alright, but it always looks better than mine. I always wear mine up when it rains, it's humid where I live :)
The Iranian who won the silver medal appeared to bow to the Duchess.
DeleteShe's just lovely. I hope the Duchess never loses that truly down to earth, unaffected quality.
ReplyDeleteThe wetsuit story is something else! I'm sure all parties involved have had a good giggle over it.
I c-a-n-n-o-t wait for this tour to get started!!!
Silvia
I looooove the suit, but I wish she had worn more formal shoes! Wearing cork wedges with a lovely suit like that is like wearing flip-flops with a cocktail dress.
ReplyDeleteHowever, I've noticed that Kate seems to get super attached to certain shoes (the black suede boots she wore all the time pre-engagement, those nude LK Bennetts, now these cork wedges). I understand that she can't own hundreds of pairs, but I still find her lack of variety a little strange. I'm not even a fraction as wealthy as she is, but I still have a rotation of 5-6 formal heels that I wear to work (I'm a lawyer), not to mention different pairs of casual shoes. I hope the attachment to these wedges fades soon, they're the least classy shoes in her repertoire!
Agreed. Not a fan of the wedges at all, especially with a suit :(
Delete-Sarah
My theory about why Kate favors the same shoes (nude LK Bennetts, cork wedges) is that she finds them super comfortable to stand and walk in. Remember that during an engagement she just can't find a chair and sit down if her feet hurt!
DeleteShe could have shoes custom made (I believe Charles does) but that is quite expensive and is not her way.
I hate those shoes!! Even with casual wear. The look would have been so much pulled-together with other navy shoes, or even red pumps. Or even the nude LKBs.
DeleteLove the rest of the outfit, including the scarf.
I love this classic suit! And I think it's sort of refreshing that she favors certain shoes and wears them often.
ReplyDeleteHi Charlotte, do you know of any other video links for the medals ceremony that do not require adobe flash player as I cannot watch the channel 4 video and cannot find another one :(
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid I don't. Channel 4 may have some exclusive rights as they are broadcasting it but I will keep looking for one.
DeleteThere is part of the video on youtube in relation to the hand shaking incident :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LmrBuZuA-kM
Thank you very much :) your the best! I love the fact she wore the Paralympic gb scarf she looked so proud when presenting aled with his gold medal.
DeleteThere was a photo of Kate from the back and I always thought her bum was way better than Pippa's, her face too. She looks more and more sophisticated. Love the jacket and skirt on her, can't wait to find out who's skirt/dress she wore. Wish she wore a different shoe.
ReplyDeleteIs it just me or does Kate's face look fuller?
ReplyDeleteI think the Duchess's face does look fuller and I think also has put on a bit of weight. She is looking really good.
DeleteI think her face looks better in general-her eyes at times used to look sunken and with pronounced dark circles. It might be a combination of more rest, nutrition, better makeup techniques and/or maybe, even, a gentle filler (no judgement there-I would get some for myself). She's lovely and so elegant! I've been spending so much time on this website that I found myself purchasing two pairs of wedge shoes (which I never would have considered buying anytime Before Duchess days) this week (and feel like a giddy little girl by thinking "on trend like HRH". I know, silly, but hey). :)
DeleteSilvia
I adore my wedges also :) I find heels can be quite uncomfortable during the day and particularly for the summer wedges are the perfect alternative.
DeleteKate looks wonderful as always, I simply adore the suit, and I think the wedges are ok. Although she definitelly shoud do something with her hair. It doesn't look good as usual, I'm assuming it's the humidity problem.
ReplyDeletelove the ducheess hair and suit i heard the iranian muslim are not allow to get handshake from unrelated lady its fine the suit is well love her look maybe its humidity
ReplyDeleteI love this outfit - she looked very 70's with her hair down. Super cute.
ReplyDeleteI also really love the story about her going unrecognised! I bet that doesn't happen often. :)
