Olympic spirit really is everywhere. Are you excited to watch the games? There was a tremendous buzz in London this evening when William, Kate and Harry welcomed the Torch Relay to Buckingham Palace.
William, Kate and Harry are said to be incredibly excited about the games and their roles as Olympic Ambassadors. William gave a speech at Beacon's College earlier today where he said 'The Olympic and the Paralympic games are a great moment for our nation. Over the next month, the eyes of the world will be on Great Britain' (See today's earlier post for more on that)
The royal trio viewed the 'torch kiss' between torchbearers Wai Ming-Lee and John Hulse who carried the torch out of the palace where he was escorted by members of the Household Cavalry as he travelled along Constitution Hill.

It is the penultimate day of the Torch Relay the torch travelled through the heart of Camden to Westminster today.

Kate teamed her polo shirt with a pair of Zara Skinny Blue Jeans (With thanks to Veronica) Many of you felt they were 'too skinny' and didn't work with the t shirt.
A closer look at Kate's outfit.
Kate chose wedges for the second time today, this time opting for the Stuart Weitzman Corkswoon Wedges (With thanks to What Kate Wore Facebook) The patent wedge is currently available for half price €155.

Tomorrow Kate is attending a Buckingham Palace reception and later in the evening she will join the other royals for the Olympic opening ceremonies. See you all tomorrow and thank you for reading :)

They look so happy! I love seeing them more relaxed
ReplyDeletecharlotee, you posted so fast you didn't even wait for clearer pix! daily mail now has clearer pics.
ReplyDeletei'm sorry but kate's jeans are waaay too skinny and clingy! i know skinny jeans are in (and clearly not designed with my body shape in mind :) ), but they are usually worn with a longer top. kate's skinny jeans with this top doesn't look good imo.
tho it does answer the question of those who have wondered how much weight has she gained recently. the answer is not much!
I agree, Alpa. I really was thinking that Kate had gained a little weight, but judging by the photos and video shown above, I believe that or she has not gained weight or gained very little. But, I agree that everyone is happy and involved in events related to the Olympics.
DeleteI totally agree about the skinny jeans ~ they don't leave much to the imagination and a bit too skinny for me for a member of the Royal family...
DeleteOh dear dear. This is an unfortunate look for her. The skinny jeans and the short shirt don't work on her figure. I so wish she would gain a pound or ten. She seriously cannot believe that this is an attractive figure ? Does anyone ?
DeleteAgreed. she looks very different in this outfit. Not very impressive. She looks boyish contrary to the dress she wore earlier. A good outfit can do wonders and vice versa.
DeleteI agree too... Too skinny, not flattering although she has great legs... They don't go with the T-shirt or the shoes, but she looks radiant, which is great ! Love from Paris
DeleteThat was super quick Charlotte!:))thanks for the video link, gosh am totally feeling the Olympic spirit, can't wait for the opening ceremony tomorrow!:))
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Charlotte, you've made my day. How I waited for those pictures. Thanks and thanks again. I am delighted!
ReplyDeleteBest regards and kisses from the South of France!
Thank you for your lovely comments :)
ReplyDeleteIt was great to see the Torch at Buckingham Palace.
Dang, those are some tight jeans. I like the idea of this outfit more than what it actually looks like, she did good supporting her team tho.
ReplyDeleteWow Kate's legs look really trim in those skinny jeans although she is bang on trend as bold coloured skinny jeans are in at the moment! I think Kate got the understated look right without outstaging the torchbearers! Hope Kate attends the concert tonight :) at first I thought the wedges might be those she wore before and after the wedding but these one don't look shiny although I can't really tell from the photo! No doubt well see a reported soar in sales of blue skinny jeans just like the coral ones Kate wore at the hockey the other month :)
ReplyDeleteGrace
You are amazing!
ReplyDelete:)
I like skinny jeans. However, Kate's resemble leggings and are way too clingy, especially with the short Team GB shirt.
ReplyDeleteI am so excited for the Olympics, and all the royal appearances are such a great bonus treat!!
ReplyDeleteAgree with those who have said the duchess's legs look quite skinny...
Hi Charlotte, are you sure about the shoes being those shown? When I saw the photos of Kate the shoes don't appear to be shiny like those in the link however this could be due to the lack of light maybe? Although admittedly the cork wedges do look the same on both shoes :) glad Kate William and Harry chose to wear team gb shirts showing their support for our olympic athletes! Wonder if Kate's is specially made or exclusive as the others seem to be gold embroidered as opposed to the blue/black on Kate's top! I like the skinny jeans although they do highlight just how skinny her legs are! Thought maybe they might be a blue version of the coral Zara ones she wore earlier in the year? Thanks for the quick updates :)
ReplyDeleteHi, Kate's jeans are indeed Zara, I've added them above. As for the shoes I'm pretty certain as are the ladies over at What Kate Wore :)
DeleteI do think Kate's shirt is specially made, the specific one she wore isn't available to buy, nice to see them supporting Team GB!
Answering the anonymous question: I do! I do think she is very attractive, I do wish I were as thin as she is (which I am not even close), and I think thin people are very elegant and can dare to wear skinny jeans like those ones. I think that if she were a little bit bigger wearing those skinny with such a short shirt would be too much, but as she is so slender she is "allowed"...
ReplyDeleteHi Charlotte,
ReplyDeleteThank you so much once again ;-)
Your fan in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
I think of the shirt had been a tad bit longer, it would have been a more flattering silhouette. Then again, she is taller than average, and the Team GB shirts probably come in a limited size range.
ReplyDeleteOut of curiosity, does anyone know what the height difference is between Will and Kate? The Weitzman wedges are seriously tall but it still looks like he has a couple of inches on her.
Kate is 5 feet 9 inches and William is 6 feet 3 inches making him 6 inches taller
DeleteYikes! I wish someone would tell Kate to go on and have dessert every now and then, poor girl. The too-tight skinny's don't help and the wedges look a bit silly for the occasion :(
ReplyDeleteKate kick off your heels, have a big slice of cake and relax tonight! We'll love you even more than we already do for it!
There are certain more momentous occasions, such as this Olympic one, when the tight fit of these "skinny" jeans is not appropriate.
ReplyDeletePerhaps balancing the jeans with a longer top or a short sleeved, longer blazer would have helped (as she did at an earlier Olympic event a couple of months ago). This time around it was just too tight a pant and too short a blouse.
As "anonymous" I'm also curious about the Duke/Duchesses height!
Silvia
While Kate's skinny jeans, or jeggings, are on trend, I don't think the proportions suit. A pair of Uggs style boots would balance her great shoulders and make a better silhouette regardless of current fashion. That said, she wears the jeans well, and they really show off her great legs.
ReplyDeleteI wasn't in love with the outfit but I see that she matched the athletes in the picture of everybody. Harry also kind of matched, and Will was basically in opposite colors, making him stand out a bit. Probably planned that way, just like when she wore that red dress on the boat.
ReplyDeleteWilliam probably doesn't care, but Kate is being really careful to support him, and be part of the family, not to overshadow him, like Diana did Charles. I think it sends a message that they are a team, and work together.
I agree with you. I believe the Duchess does what she can not to take the spot light away fron her Prince. But the media always does. I feel sorry for her. She can not even just be a wife like she want's to.
DeleteBut I have to say the look good together. A real breath of fresh air for the royal family.
P.S.
ReplyDeleteI apologize to any offended Brit friends here for Romney's ridiculous comments. I am working hard to keep him from being our next President.
I'm with you!
Delete-Sarah
Aren't pants that tight (and especially jeans!) kind of uncomfortable?? Good thing she didn't have to sit down!
ReplyDelete- Sarah
OK, I am downgrading this one into a fashion fail in my book. I just skipped over to WKW and there is a picture taken from the back that just draws your attention to all the wrong parts. Sorry, Kate - your dress this morning was lovely though!
ReplyDelete- Sarah
I love Samantha Cameron's dress! I just don't like Kate's outfit. Jeggings and big chunky shoes just don't do it for me.
ReplyDeleteThe beautiful Duchess looked good today but I do agree that her pants are a little tight on her. She has put on a few pounds in the past few months and is looking good. You can tell it in her face which is fuller then it has been since her wedding. I love it when William & his Duchess are together, their love just shines through.
ReplyDeleteI think she looks great, sporty and fun :) It also looks like she's had an inch or two cut off her hair... Or are the curls just a bit tighter than usual?
ReplyDeleteI also don't find Kate's look appropriate for a royal. However I still love her and everyone makes mistakes sometimes!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your fantastic posts all the time!
Batsheva
Thank you for another great post!
ReplyDeleteI can´t believe I have a pair of shoes which look totally the same, but were not that expensive. :-)
I really like the jeans, great colour!
I wouldn´t say exactly "skinny", she´s got quite musculous legs but she has long legs in the part from hips to knees and her hips are narrow. T-shirt is quite ok for me,jeans maybe too skinny - they are just not flattering or her this time...neverthless: if she had had different shoes, her legs wouldnt have looked so "skinny" being so unnuturally prolonged. Those wedges are really high which 1)doesn´t suit the look in the combination with that just-just t-shirt. Too short above, too long below. 2)makes no sense regarding the occasion.
ReplyDeleteI´m not a fan of so high platforms - always seems to me a bit unnatural or forced the efect they do with legs. Neither I´m fan of the combo sporty t-shirt+heels. I think that some flats (in red) or white Keds would have done much better service in every aspect.
I think Kate looks great, she's very elegant, athletic, and not too skinny at all. But she should leave those wedges at home once in a while, and choose another kind of shoes...
ReplyDeleteThat's right.. they were too skiny but the colour is fantastic ...
ReplyDeleteThe best blog ever !!!!
The jeans look vulgar, showing what Americans call camel toe!!! and make Kates legs look short. not everyone one has a perfect figure, but truely stylish people seek out and wear clothes that suit their shape, and do not follow fashion if it does not suit them. Kate needs to work with her body proportions to be be truely stylish
ReplyDeleteVulgar seems a harsh comment; she seemed suitably dressed for a brief appearance to greet the flame carriers.
DeleteNever heard of "Camel toe" and suspect many American women have not either. Have you seen the First Lady and many other women in the American Ambassador's garden on Friday afternoon?
Thanks for your wonderfull work !
ReplyDeleteHi, do you know what time are the royals expected at the Buckingham palace reception? Is it a private event or a photos likely to be released?
ReplyDeleteGrace
love the clothes of the duchess looking forward for the Olympics to start
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, the duchess has fantastic legs and she can show them!
ReplyDeleteBut I don't like the combination of the outfit: I agree that the jeans is too skinny, the polo shirt doesn't match so good with the jeans and in my opinion the shoes are too massive for her body. I don't like them. The imperias are great with this smaller wedge. The other Stuart Weitzman Wedges she wore at the polo match they were ok...Not her best outfit. I would say...it was ok...:-/
Ugh...not good.
ReplyDeletehehehehe you wrote the shoes are available at "half prince"! lolol
