We really are being quite fortunate with photos of Kate today. After the 30 year old's splendid first speech earlier today she changed into casual attire and enjoyed some retail therapy.
Kate spent over half an hour in department store Peter Jones on the Kings road before leaving with two large bags. I thought it was interesting that she carried her own bags. Despite her royal status and worldwide popularity she is very down to earth. Kate's shopping bags appeared quite full, From what we see Kate purchased lampshades. Kate has previously been spotted buying homeware there.

A look at the store.
Kate appears to be wearing the Emilio Pucci double breasted jacket she wore whilst visiting GB's hockey team. It is available for £1,145.00 at Selfridge's.
Kate kept warm wearing her Aquascutum Club Check Scarf. The pretty scarf is available for £85.
Duchess Kate was last photographed wearing the scarf in August, shopping at her local Tesco. I adored this look and have been a huge of fan of wearing skinny jeans and London Sole ballet flats ever since.

Today's engagement marks the end of Kate's weekly appearances for a while. William will be returning from the Falklands any time now and Kate will resume life as a serviceman's wife in Anglesey. However I'm quite sure it won't be too long until we see her again, she was photographed walking Lupo last week and I expect those photos will surface sooner rather than later :)
A lovely photo of Kate playing hockey with Team GB graces the cover of Hello! this week. (I believe Kate is their cover girl on a weekly basis now :))

are you sure about the jacket id? it looks like another jacket of hers (i can't remember where): dark blue, princess sleeves (i think that's what they're called: puffed at the shoulder) which taper a little at the wrist (reminded me of the old style called lamb chop sleeves), single breasted.

Alpa - It does look a lot like her Smythe jacket, It's hard to be certain without clearer photos but the general consensus seems to be that it's the Pucci one.

ReplyDeleteDang I wish I live in England. We don't have hello in the Usa. I would be broke buying all the magazines. I will miss the weekly engagements. It was nice to have something to look forward to in the morning. Your blog has been amazing and I will continue to look to you for all things Kate and William.

ReplyDeleteI am not exactly sure either whether it is the same jacket she wore with pink pants. That jacket was quite expensive and very elegant. I doubt she would wear it for ordinary shopping trip - but of course it is possible.

What I like - and have always liked - about Kate and William is they do seem like a team and I believe that they have discussed how they will move forward together in their lives.

ReplyDeleteLove your site! I will have to go into Kate withdrawal for the next month. As soon as Will returns to the UK I'm sure they will want some private time together and perhaps baby making will start in earnest. No doubt she will give a huge boost to maternity fashion when she gets pregnant.

A quick update on the bags Kate was carrying, they do have John Lewis written on them with green stripes with 'Peter Jones' written on them too.
ReplyDeleteI thought the beautiful Duchess looked great and did a great job with her first speech. She did seem a little nervous but what could we expect for her first one and then to do it without her Prince by her side.
ReplyDeleteI too are going to go into Duchess withdrawals but she does deserve a big break with her Prince. They have been apart for a while. And she also is a service member's wife and we know that is her first job is to surppot her Prince in that way.
Maybe the Duchess was out buying some sexy things to wear when her Prince get's home this week. And then maybe we will hear a baby annoucement in a few months. I did read somewhere that they plan on trying for a baby when William get's back but then again they are the only ones that know what is going on the baby making thing. We can only hope.

ReplyDeleteI am a huge Kate fan, but I have to admit that she dissapointed me with the speech. I can only imagine how difficult it can be to make a speech amd knowing that so many people will be watching, but I still think that het " speech" trainer wasn' t too good.

Well the beautiful Duchess's Prince is back with her now. I understand there is pictures but on twitter. I do not use twitter so maybe you do and can get some pictures to post. I also understand that the Duchess was at the army airport to greet her prince this morning at 4am. What great pictures those would be.

@Katica, You stated that you were disappointed in the Duchess speech. Well I happen to disagree with you. I thought her speech was great. I don't think she had a "speech trainer". You have to remember that the Duchess has worked her tail off the past 6 weeks and her Prince was gone for the entire time. So give the Duchess some slack. And she wrote the speech herself. And it was her first time. She is a very shy person so to have to stand up in front of those people without her PRInce by her side for the first time, she was great.
